RTD's Gay Agenda got a brief mention and commentary about 3.30 minutes into the episode.

Thought I'd post this because it's pretty funny, and I know how much this forum loves this particular topic.

"Wouldn't have happened in my day!" says Charlie, who was in both 'The Claws Of Axos' and 'Image Of The Fendahl'.

I think they obviously knew that when writing the ep

I wouldn't be suprised if they (the script writers) came directly onto a Doctor Who forum to see what some peopel's views were on such a subject matter, and probably nicked an exact quote!!! I have been here for nearly two years now....and i am sure that at least a couple of people have said that exact line!!!

those of you outside the UK (or can't be bothered to find it in the episode), you can see the clip here:

Good old Charlie, a great character! Not great enough to make me actually watch East Enders on a regular basis, admittedly...

Sad to see that he apparently isn't watching the new series. Has East Enders had a Doctor Who fan in the cast in recent years? There was a character some years ago who was a big fan, though I can't recall his name-one of the various waifs and strays 'adopted' by Dot Cotton.

That may have been Nigel.

Not 100% sure, but I think Bradley Branning, who died in the recent live episode, was a fan too. Can't be certain though as I don't watch it, I just pick bits up from colleagues when they talk about it

Bradley Branning was a big fan of Doctor Who! The theme was his ringtone for awhile, there was an episode where he was watching it, and there was an episode when he went to a Doctor Who exhibition, full of Who-ness! lol

You would have thought that Charlie or Ricky would have noticed Zainab, Chrissie, Ash, Peggy have been moonlighting in Dr Who.

How did they feel when they watched Army of Ghosts and saw the Peggy and the Queen Vic on the screen? Reality inversion loop!

Yup, there was an episode 2 or 3 valentines ago set at a (fake) Doctor Who exhibiton in London with him and his then ex-wife.

The tardis and some daleks made an appearance (courtesy of BBC Wales):

I assume that little cameo didn't happen in the EastEnders world, because EastEnders obviously doesn't exist. And Zainab would probably have thought, "that woman could be my twin!" if she watched Eleventh Hour.

In the same vein, Dimensions of Time is non-canon to both shows, as it was a full blown crossover and EE has subsequently contradicted it (Pauline's death for starters).

Personally I found it amusing. Posted it on Twitter straight away. Checked #DoctorWho & #EastEnders and there was a sizeable few that found it homophobic. I personally thought it was tipping the hat to RTD and mocking the people who thought he had a gay agenda.

Ah right, thanks, I wouldn't have been at all surprised if I'd got it wrong, all the soaps tend to merge into one for me

Definetly something dodgy going on in the universes of Doctor Who and Eastenders! Dimensions In Time, Bradley being a fan, Charlie talking about the show, Peggy and a dead Den Watts in Doctor Who.

I think it's time we called a Doctor.....!!!!

Though DIT did correctly predict the death of Arthur Fowler several years in advance.

Den had already been in Doctor Who-masquerading as Davros' assistant Kitson in Resurrection of the Daleks in 1984.

Good point, I think there definitely too many coincidences in all this, almost like some cosmic influence is at work......

Lady Eleanor from 'The Time Warrior' would probably agree, if she wasn't so busy in the launderette...

Yes, I'm sure Heather would have some great stories to tell about the Blitz and hogging all the food and also, I wonder if Rose saved Lynda with a 'Y' from the Daleks as well as Jack, as she's turned up in the square calling herself Tanya....with a 'Y"!!!!

I just don't get how the conversation went from being about not having anything wrong with gays to discussing Captain Jack, completely random.

Heh quite funny, love it when they put such little things into the programs

(Eastenders is probably causing the cracks in the universe :P)

I always chuckle at Eastenders, the town I live in is called "Oostende" which means East End ... So I'm an Eastender so to speak heh
