In the 11th hour Amelia had blue eyes and Amy has light brown eyes - either a production error or this is the secret hidden thing thats supposed to be obvious later on

what anyone think???????

Little Amelia was probably just the best little girl to play the part. I don't think it means anything.

Also, I was watching TBB again this evening and it has that utterly beautiful little scene after the opening credits with Amy floating in space and in voiceover she says about how her imaginary friend from childhood has come back. If Amy wasnt Amy that'd be too much of a cheat from SM.

Something is definitely not quite right but I dont think this is it.

(That scene btw is my favourite from the new series so far. And 'Amys theme-which im assuming it is- is one of MGs best. So so good)

Well considering that they cast Karen Gillan's cousin so that she'd look like a realistic little Amy I suspect that Amy and Amelia are the same person.

There is also precedent with Leela for eyes changing colour.

Maybe little kids aren't meant to wear contacts.. or she couldn't wear them, or they don't care enough to make her..
Karen has beautiful eyes, would be a shame for her to wear lenses instead and plus that would be a lot of hassle.. but I do see your point.

It's not uncommon for that sort of error to occur in TV shows when there is a scene that calls for a child to play a flashback (or equivalent) of a character.

Trying to find a child who looks like the adult actor is a big enough ask without factoring in same eye colour as well so its one of those things that gets overlooked a lot of the time as most people aren't likely to notice that.

this is quite normal in real life. children are born with blue eyes that turn brown as they grow older. and it can happen quite late.

its like blonde hair growing darker as a person ages.

supposedly, its the evolutionary reason why a significant proportion of men prefer blonde-haired, blue-eyed women - the blonde hair and blue eyes point to a younger and therefore more fertile mate. apparently this sub-conscious response still works for men, even when consciously they know the blonde hair is fake. again, supposedly...

my eyes changed constantly from blue to green to brown and all mixes in between nearly daily till I was a teenager - still does now but not as much.

I think its more a they didn't think of the need to have the little girl put in contacts.

Rose had three different eye colours in Fathers Day, she still turned out to be Rose.

Very true, I was a blond until I was almost 12. Though the blue eyes stuck.

Either that, or she was created by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Take them with a pinch of salt - they're usually speculative, based on some academic or whatever making up spurious reasoning.

You mean Graham Norton dancing across the screen, promoting an Andrew Lloyd Webber show, was a plot device?!

Nonsense. It's a documentary. The tenth Doctor himself confirmed that when he was on QI just before Christmas and I believe him.
