It's pretty obvious to me that it's just a plot point and not a branch of the main story.....The pregnancy will probably only be there for the one episode and have been caused by a temporal anomaly/alien bite/ breathing in some strange gas/whatever device SM thought up but will almost definitely NOT be brought about in the normal way...
I think it's part of what is "wrong" with Amy's timeline as we see it, so I expect it to be a "normal" pregnancy in her timeline as shown. Perhaps the Doctor went on another "5 minutes" trip?

I quite agree. It's the language of the building site and the barracks, is most distasteful and has no place in a forum that has just as many female members as male, if not more.
I would however take consolation that any persons making such remarks are unlikely to have ever had the opportunity to get 'someone up the stick'.
