Need a temp mobile in Poland, Prague, Slovakia, Slovenia etc
Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I have a Samsung T-Mobile pay as you go 'phone. I will be going away to visit Poland, Prague, Slovakia, Slovenia and surrounding areas in August. I am disabled so need a phone to keep in touch. I don't have much money, so wondered if anyone knew the best way to do it. Can I take my own 'phone there? Will it work? Is it expensive? Or will it be cheaper to get a pay as you go sim card over there and put it into my 'phone, or even buy another cheap mobile 'phone when I get there? Any help would be appreciated. Richard. |

You'll have to contact T-Mobile to get your handset unlocked though or you won't be able to use the SIM's in it.
If you have an old dual band mobile kicking about it might work out cheaper to take it down the market and get it unlocked. |

I'd think it would probably be cheaper to use your T-Mobile phone rather than buy a local SIM and/or phone for each of those countries...
But I guess it depends on how much you're going to be using the phone to call the UK. Looks like calls to the UK with T-Mobile are going to cost you £1 a minute both to make and receive. Not cheap. |

Sorry, I should have explained. I'll be using the 'phone to ring an able bodied friend who will be coming with me can help me when we are apart if needs be, but we need a way to keep in touch she likes to go walking in the day).
I will be ringing her mobile whilst we are both over there and not the UK. Thanks to all those who have replied so far. |

Hi Richard, try this link to the T-Mobile site for international calls when your abroad, it may give you a better idea of cost and availability whilst your away. If you do decide to take your phone give T-Mobile a call AT LEAST 24hrs before you go, so they can check to see if your account is enabled for roaming
