Afternoon grimtales

I liked your video of Somewhere, you have a lovely Baritone voice. You're very brave for videoing it. I'd love to be able to sing, but i sound more like a cat being strangled! x

Thanks Degsey
Maybe I just have a baritone for that song

Well done grim

Somewhere is a lovely song but not an easy song to sing and I think you did very well.

I wonder if Rhydian will sing it tomorrow night at Blaenavon - I'll let you know.

Before that I'm hoping for a good result for England tonight against Algeria!

Hi Sweet C - I'm also supporting that bunch of donkeys again tonight otherwise known as the England football team. Come on England - giz a goal (or 2 or more!).

Well done Grim on your performance of 'Somewhere'. I can now finally put a face to your name. I'd ignore any tossers on YouTube that come out with rude comments. Fair enough if someone wants to offer constructive criticism, but insults are another matter.

'Somewhere' was my fave performance of the 'XF4' final. This is definitely one song that Rhyd has nailed and it's a bit of a signature song of his I feel. Always like this one performed live - superior to the album version.

I think I sang very low and listening now maybe I was out of tune I dont know.
Thank you SC - as Cowell always says, it is a hard one to sing.

Hey Grim - looks like you're gonna have to add 'Go West' to your songs to sing as that's made a comeback! Apparently Rhydian sang that one at this evening's event as well as 'Somebody To Love'.

Another couple of goodies that I like that he performed this evening were 'Music of the Night' and 'To Where You Are'. Feel like I'm back on Rhyd's tour with those 2 songs.

Thanks to Nonna and Anne of r-r forums, we have Rhydian's full set from last night, so many, many thanks go to them both. Rhydian's fans are so selfless, foregoing some of their own listening/viewing experience to capture it on video for those of us unable to go. It is very special:

The set list in order was:
Music of the Night
To Where you are
My little Welsh Home

Ave Verum
You Raise me up
Somebody to love
Go West

Welcome to the RAT House, SomebodytoLove!

*Offers STL a cup of tea*

Liz - thanks for bringing those links over here. I'm going to check them out. That is a varied set list - at least nobody can say he only sings ballads or the same type of song.

Hello grim

I've just arrived home from Wales - what a fabulous set from Rhyd last night

The whole evening was lovely - a fantastic setting outdoors at Blaenavon World Heritage Site with fireworks to round off the concert

The massed choirs sang beautifully but Rhyd was the undisputed star. You have the set list and the YT links so you can see and hear for yourself

It was fabulous to hear STL again and Go West was joyous - especially with the massed choirs acting as Rhyd's backing singers complete with actions

Ave Verum and Pan Fyddo'r were sung so beautifully by Rhydian. I could go on!

Toreador as an encore was a big hit too

Hello Sweet C Hope you are well.

I think Rhyd looks better with his more natural hair.
Fab singing by Rhyd on YRMU.

Rhydian was fab. Welcome to the thread STL

The link to Ave Verum doesn't work as it says the vid is private.

I got a couple too in close up.

Ave Verum & YRMU:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCkRNdlnedg

He really got the audience going in the upbeat numbers and from being polite and subdued to start with they ended up whooping and cheering and gave him two standing ovations. You can't but love the showman in Rhydian, here's hoping he gets signed by a label who want to showcase that side of him too
