Morning everyone!

Welcome to the RAT thread Somebodytolove!

It was a fantastic evening on Saturday and we saw the multifaceted Rhyd we all love .....as you can see from the videos that have already been posted.

Everone seemed to have a fantastic time, including the choir members, who all queued to get Rhyd to sign their programmes after the show!

Rhyd's singing the Toreador song is great
You can sing these words to the chorus:

I''ve got-a lovely bunch of coconuts
There they are standing in a row
Big ones, small ones some as big as your 'ead...

Loved the part where Rhyd pretended to conduct the choir on the last verse, LOL

Aren't they cracking videos?!! On headphones I almost felt I was back at the concert so good is the sound captured.

Thanks Oldgreymare for recording them

The organisers had a film crew present who recorded the concert and will be making a DVD. They don't yet know if they will be allowed to include Rhydian's performance on it but they will be letting the fans know.

Thanks for the welcomes guys.

I'd really like to read your thoughts about Rhydian's second album so could anyone please give me a rough idea of the dates I should be looking for.

I adore O Fortuna but I know there was a lot of debate at the time about its content and I would like to read about it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh my goodness - there was a lot of debate about OF - and I think still very mixed feelings about it!

Anyway the debate started here with the announcement of the tracklist

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...118073&page=60

On reflection both of Rhyd's albums so far have been in the classical crossover genre, but have both been (for me) rather 'safe' albums (with the exception of one or two tracks). What makes them stand out (for me) is Rhydian's voice and how he sings.
I am very much looking forward to future Rhyd albums with a new record label.

His voice has really developed over the last couple of years - loving those very sexy low notes

Greetings!

Just had a quick look back on some of our comments when we heard the tracklisting to 'O Fortuna' when it was orginally called 'Our Homeland'. I remember the shock at the prospect of an album called 'Our Homeland'. A scary time indeed!

Chuckling again at Moon&Star's old goat comment about Karl Jenkins.

I love the title track 'O Fortuna' and the video they did for it.

Still to catch up on those vids from the latest live performance from Rhyd - especially want to see 'Music of the Night' 'Somebody To Love' and 'To Where You Are'. 'Go West' too just for the sheer fun of it.

I did manage to listen to 'You Raise Me Up' which seemed to be sung lower than on 'X Factor'. I love his low/deep notes.

O, Grimmie, I watched the game yesterday and was torn apart, my first home country playing against my second home country!
What an emotional disaster was that for me!
But at the end of the day UK really NEEDed this win otherwise the players will be 'crucified' coming home, on the other hand Slovenians will be still greeted as a heroes even if they have lost and didn't get into the last 16!

I like the part in the Toreador video with Rhyd shaking hands with the choir members, then he realises thats his cue, he starts clapping instead (so doesnt shake hands anymore) and everyone bursts out laughing

Greetings Grim,

I thought Rhydian did it as a bit of cheeky humour. Shaking guy no.1's hand, then guy no 2. When he approaches guy no 3, guy no 3 gets ready to shake hands with Rhyd, however Rhyd jokingly claps his own hands instead and guy no. 3 has a laugh about it.
