I suspect that we might have to pick Rattie up off the floor, as I've heard that Rhydian sang one of the songs from 'Love Never Dies' that she's been wanting him to sing for ages.

Hey Degsey - I was at your neck of the woods on Rhyd's tour. Bournemouth was one of the last places I imagined I'd be last year - so pleased I had the opportunity to go as I'm from Oop North. Every time someone mentions Bournemouth, I go all soft as it was truly a brilliant day and a superb evening.

It seems that Rhydian was in fine voice again last night. The who were lucky enough to attend the concert did not forget about those who couldn't and documented everything. The songs were chosen to suit the occasion. Nonna very kindly made videos of all the songs, which I have taken the liberty of adding here. Many thanks to her, it is much appreciated:

Fabulous gig by Rhyd last night

He both looked and sounded great after his recent holiday.

The set list is as nonna's YT vids above.
Needless to say Til I Hear Your Sing was the highlight for me - and yes you had to pick quite a lot of females off the floor after that song!

Empty Chairs and Empty Tables was also lovely, and it was great for me to hear him sing Annie's song and Anthem live

The Impossible Dream was epic as usual

Hi grim

Yes Empty Chairs is from Les Mis and is sung by Marius about his dead friends. Rhyd's version was full of passion and sadness.

TIHYS is a great song from Love Never Dies and Rhyd was quite simply awesome -he was the Phantom

Watched a few more clips.
Empty Chairs @ Empty Tables (from Les Mis) was very good.
The Impossible Dream was EPIC Rhyd really seemed to be "acting" the song out too and was in magnificent voice
Loved how the applause started before he'd even finished!

Thanks Sweet
Maybe Rhyd will be the Phantom one day - I presume Rhyd had to get permission from ALW to sing it?
Its hard to imagine anyone else singing POTO and MOTN now - maybe XF missed a trick by having him do POTO on the 2nd show - what would it have been like if it had been the other way round and done stuff like YRMU first and THEN POTO?

So many good YT vids from last night.

ICHA and Ave Verum - which opened Rhyd's set

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aooAnilFl00

Annie's Song & Empty Chairs - both beautifully sung

TIHYS - what can I say. It was a privilege to hear Rhydian sing this in public for the first time. Funny intro by The Man who gives a not-very-brief synopsis of Love Never Dies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUKmv...eature=channel

I can't stop watching/listening to TIHYS

Rhydian was awesome - one minute laughing and chatting with the audience, and the next he was the tortured and troubled Phantom. And what can you say about his voice-just fabulous.

That, Mr Cowell is world-class, and you let him go!

Oooh rattie has also posted her vids - excellent

The Impossible Dream was a powerhouse performance
For some reason when I thought of the end of Anthem I thought of The Simpsons episode with Burns in the election and the campaign guy sings "On-ly a moron wouldn't cast his vote for MOOOOOONTYYYYY BUUUUUUUUURNS"

Thank you so much all of you who took videos of the concert on Saturday....it's fantastic to relive it!

I was there live and was a bit of a quivering mess after TIHYS...had fingermarks on my leg too from where it was grabbed during the performance....not by rattie though cos she was too busy trying to control her shaking as she was filming!
The rest of the performance was fabulous too as Rhyd was in tremendous voice and looking great after his holiday!
I don't think I've seen him look quite so relaxed since the tour....it was a great night again!

Hope you manage to find your poster Emma!

It was the first time I had heard Til I hear you sing, but now I have heard it about 20 times since I got home, and am really loving it now. BUT I adore Les Mis, and I was reduced to a quivering wreck when he sang empty chairs, so much so I turned my camera off by mistake!!! The emotion in his voice and face, I really thought he was going to cry - well I did, and do each time I hear him singing it. I love Michael Ball singing this and I compared the two, what Rhyd brings to it is a touch of anger at the wasted lives as well as his own grief, outstanding, world class etc etc, I am so privilaged to be there hearing him, and I will never forget that.
