Last night /OK over YT/ I liked Aiden, Mary and Rebecca.

It's wonderful how Rhydian has been brought up during this XF! It a very good publicity for him and it makes me happy. His O Fortuna has risen to 868 on Amazon, it has not been there like half a year!
Was he having a secret gig or it's effect of XF?

Argh, I have come for a rant. Loads of people on Twitter keep saying Storm Lee is the new Rhydian. Er, no he is not, his vocals are weak by comparison. Just because they have dressed him up like a Showman doesn't make him a new Rhydian Grrr.

rant over ”

I'm thankful Rattie that people are associating Rhydian with being The Showman and not *whispers very quietly - bloody choirs!* Although I suppose you have to take what work is offered and be grateful for it.

I'm pleased he's got 'War of the Worlds' coming up soon and 'We Will Rock You' next year. Plus a new album early next year. Less time to p*ss about with *whispers again - choirs*.

Pleased he got to sing for the rugby last weekend - I bet that was a proud moment for him. Also the golf tournament as well. He seems to be able to adapt to a lot of occasions well Wouldn't do to be a bag of nerves in front of a large rugby crowd would it? How many were at the rugby last weekend - 75,000?

It's great to see that he still looms so large in people's memories after all this time. Also very good to see the support he's getting on that thread.

Exactly.

Rhydsflower - the question was simply posed because Rhydian was made out to be the pantomime villain in XF4, but he managed to turn public opinion around because he gave a great 1st week live performance. A lot of people appreciated that he gave a Showman performance alongside great vocals with 'IWDAFL'. Plus he showed each week that he wasn't this horrible person that he was made out to be prior to the live shows.

Whereas Katie has had a lot of dislike on this forum because she fluffled up her judges house performance, got the blame for Gamu for not gaining a place and some people just think she's coming across as false and a bit of a drama queen. I personally have no real opinion of Katie but I was pleased that she stayed ahead of FYD as I find her more entertaining/interesting to watch out of the two options.

I am seeing next comparison coming:
Who is better singer Rhydian or Aiden, lol?

LOL sometimes things are just TOO different to compare. Having said which, although I liked Aiden's performance on Saturday, I found the drama of it rather forced and unnatural. I think Rhydian would have brought all his natural stagecraft and charisma to bear and made it totally believable. He's proved time and time again that he can do that effortlessly - just as he did in that absolutely spine-tingling performance of WWTLF the other week.

I think Aiden was genuinely nervous too nervous to be acting, if you see what I mean.

Do you think so?
I recon he just try to act a desperate, angry young man from the lyrics of the songs and yes, he was overdoing it.
Definitely Aiden can't be compared to Rhydian, there are millions light years between them in the style, the quality of the voice, the experiences, the charisma,...

Grim and Rhydsflower, I agree with you both. I think Aiden was very nervous but also (and maybe because of that) he was overacting. He's got a very long way to go before he can be compared to Rhydian imo, but it's early days for him.

Maybe the nerves added to the song, surprised none of the judges mentioned it.
At first it put me off a bit.

*Creeps in*

It's the 3rd anniversary tomorrow of this appreciation thread of the fabulous Rhydmeister.

Yay - we're nearly 3 years old.

Considering it was the first live week of this series X Factor, I thought that the contestants did well. There's bound to be a bit more adrenalin pumping around with it being the first week of the lives; and nerves of course come into play. Just makes me appreciate even more how confident and self-assured Rhydian's 1st week performance was.

Dunno - somebody at ITV at guess - is there a website contact to suggest programmes?
Rhydian did a concert on S4C and no offence to his viewers there but he deserves a bigger platform, and I dont mean the odd spot on Titchmarsh.

They really like him on S4C, he's filming for another show at the CIA on the 24th . But sadly, I think it'll be a fair few years, it at all, before ITV ask him, I don't he's been around long enough. x
