Some people

We seem to have a resident troll in the thread about Rhyd's signing

Yes, seems a bit OT to me. Very odd - but actually that poster is making a bit of a fool of him/herself. Looks like a bit of a newbie.

Meanwhile, do I just have a filthy mind or is the tone of that other thread sinking fast?

I got deleted but they seem to have left the thread alone for now. Interestingly it seems a fair amount of bitterness has suddenly appeared from some quarters following news that Rhydian is to get a third album. Could be a coincidence but I hadn't noticed any of it before.

Perhaps they should go and ask for a piccie from Madlh100 and find something to smile about

Yes, a lot of bitterness from certain quarters, rattie, and paradoxically always most from those who are accusing Rhydian fans (or even people wrongly suspected of being Rhydian fans!) of being bitter. Thankfully, we can rise above it as Rhydian and his fans have had so much to enjoy and have so much to celebrate and look forward to. Fans of certain others acts are not so fortunate.

Bless, he's messed up his itunes account so can't use his twitter account on his phone until it's sorted out.

Bit of a technophobe is the Rhydler methinks lol.

Not inside info, Liz McClarnon said it on twitter.

Rhydian and Liz McClarnon were on Irish TV today, and rte, the channel, put their interview on youtube. Rhydian says his album is 80s New Wave and he will be bringing out a single for the first time. I am not sure what style of music that is though:

Ooooh, a pop album and a single. Go Rhydian

Think Adam Ant, Hazel O'Connor, Spandau Ballet, Eurythmics, Tears For Fears, Gary Numan........that kind of style Liz.

80's new wave? Interesting....
Imagines Rhyd singing "i'm the dandy highwayman that you're too scared to mention..."

I like 80's music, some great songs from that time are still one of the best ever!
Yay, single, for the first time.

Also Culture Club,Duran Duran,ABC....it was a very broad term to cover many of the British acts of the early 80s

Guess what! I've just seen Silly Sue, clambering over the roof hanging bunting from gables

A pop album, an 80s style and using a bit of logical deduction, no choirs. Right up her street! Although I am a bit concerned that all that gleeful axe waving could mean curtains for anyone near by

Interesting as I've always thought what a great version of Party Fears Two by The Associates Rhydian would do or how much that type of thing would suit him.

Hiya Eurostar.

Nice to see you on this thread.

Yeah it does indeed cover a wide range of 80's groups, so there should be enough material to suit Rhydian.

I'm doing the happy dance in the corridors of Digital Spy, Rattie. *Waves shiny axe in gleeful manner*

I do love a lot of stuff from the 80's (although I also love stuff from the 60's, 70's, 90's, 00's and 10's). From the 80's, I have a particular fondness for stuff from 1981/82. My motto though is if I like it, I like it regardless of decade.

BatmanLaBatman - I love 'Party Fears Two' - I think it's excellent. I also love 'Club Country' from the same group. Whether Rhyd could do these justice - who knows? I have wondered though previously what he would sound like singing something like that.

Thanks for the link, Liz. I'll have a nosy later on when I'm on my laptop.

*Goes back to dancing in the corridors of Digital Spy*

I think Rhyd would do a good version of Gold by Spandau Ballet

I love the 80s, it my all time favourite decade. My first crush as a wee young thing was Adam Ant as Prince Charming. It was a time for music to jump around to, brightly coloured leggins, ra ra skirts, princess Diana blouses, big earings, very bright eye shadow and very, very big hair.

You do realise we're all going to have to get perms and wear pom pom jumpers
