When he said it would be original I thought it meant no covers And it would be new songs. But IMO there should be some well known covers on there, otherwise the CD may not sell well.

Exactly - that article is full of inaccuracies and misquotes! The only thing I can believe from The Sun snoozepaper is the price! So many times papers like that seem to mix up bits of an interview/article etc. Just like a lucky dip. A lot of the time these articles read like two interviews in one or are just a bag of jumble.

For example if you said "I'd love to win the lottery this weekend" and then later in the same interview you said "I love cats". They'd probably merge them together and add a couple of words here and there and you'd have "My cats won me a million on the lottery!"

Rhydsflower, how is it liking him to write a completely false interview, full of factual errors? I doubt Rhydian had any input into that article at all, it's completely made up. I'd say it's doing him a great disservice, except that no-one believes a word they read in that paper, or maybe a few naive idiots still do

I've been puzzled here, I have always thought that publicly "quoting" the artist means what the artist has really said, but in the mind of some pips it obviously always means that the press has been 'making up' or even lying about the facts.
Is it than possible that in this case, where Rhydian has been clearly "quoting" he has been indirectly accused of lying by some of his fans?

Wouldn't be much easier, healthier and normal for Rhydian's fans to admit the fact that he has sold million of albums and be happy for him?!!!... rather than opposite? The 'doubts' of some of you here have already been spread around the net and finding out that the source is coming from his Appreciation thread at DS makes the readers at least puzzled if nothing else!

Oh RhydsFlower, you know that article is full of crap. I am embarrassed just reading it. Rhydian would have never said he has sold a million copies because he hasn't, and he was quoted saying he and SC parted couples years ago, couple years?? We know they just did this year, like officially last month. I personally don't know much about UK papers, but knowing what we know, I wish that article did not exist. But then if a lot of people read the Sun, then I guess a bit of publicity is better than none, overall it was a positive tone.

I love Rhyd to bits but that article in The Sun is full of inaccuracies.

As Silly Sue says most people in the UK take what is in The Sun with a pinch of salt - even if they find it amusing.

It's not healthy or normal (although it may be easier for some) to believe untruths.

I believe NOTHING written in newspapers, it can all be twisted and misquoted, same thing goes with things you write on the internet. I could make up a story right about Rhydian right now and it would get repeated and repeated until people thought it was true.

I would only believe those things if I heard them directly from Rhydian, and even then I'd be questioning. The certified sales of both his albums so far don't add up to a million, let along millions plural and we all know that he left Sony at the end of October, so it's not even two months let alone 2 years.

Being a fan doesn't have to mean you blindly believe every bit of rubbish written about an artist. Much as I love Rhydian's voice, I don't love everything he does. He's a human being like everyone else here and he's just as fallible as the rest of us.

I don't think for a moment that any of Rhydian's fans would dream of accusing him of lying, or even implying it. People who have been following him for a long time know that he is a person of integrity, as well as considerable modesty and charm. The idea that he would speak in such a boastful, inaccurate and crude manner is just not credible. That would be completely out of character.

And for what earthly reason would he say he and Simon had parted two years ago, when that would obviously be incorrect? Surely, RhydsFlower, you do not think Rhydian that stupid?

This throws into question the veracity of the whole article, which is clearly made up from beginning to end and as I said, apart from the publicity angle, does Rhydian no favours at all.

I believe it about as much as I believe Rhydian once hung up a dwarf by his braces.

Haha, I had to laugh out loud when I read this, it is so mis-quoted but it is good to see The Sun supporting him positively for a change. Maybe the change in his career is making the media see him in a new light. Time will tell.

Rhydsflower, most or all of Rhydian's fans on DS have been following him from the very beginning, they watch every video, read every article and listen to every radio interview. They following him up and down the country and are now waiting with baited breath for his first Tweet.
You need to realise that they know what they are talking about in everything that is Rhydian. The media, essentially, make it up or embelish the truth to sell more copies.
Believe me, if he had sold a million albums, you wouldn't find a happier bunch of peeps dancing in the isles, but he hasn't.
Who knows what album 3 will bring tho so fingers crossed that it might push the sales figures up to that magic million

The Sun snoozepaper reports:-

Silly Sue went on a rampage at Digital Spy Headquarters with her shiny axe. One member of the Digital Spy staff was reported as saying "She just went at us with her shiny axe which she'd just sharpened 10 minutes previously! She's often spotted in the Rhydian Appreciation Thread; and also hangs around the music and general discussion threads. We've had no trouble from her in the past, never had to issue her with a ban or anything like that. She's been good as gold".

The Digital Spy staff member continued: "Although her happy dancing in the corridors on various occasions especially when Rhydian gigs/events are on the horizon; are sometimes a cause for concern! We've heard she's going to see Rhydian performing in 'War of the Worlds' in Sheffield in December so we're bracing ourselves for more happy dancing and axe waving in the corridors!"

Another member of the Digital Spy staff who didn't want to be named said "Silly Sue has been a much valued member of the Digital Spy community for 5 years so this rampage is out of character for her. Maybe she got a bit excitable at the thought of celebrating her 5th anniversary at this much loved forum?"
