It has been tweeted this morning on Rhydian's twitter page that O Fortuna has had the 'Classical Brit' effect, it has shot up from #40 to #23 in the official uk classical chart. (not to be confused with the classic fm chart, no sightings there yet but fingers crossed for the weekend.)

Excellent news ...... congratulations, very well deserved
Absolutely Lets hope the exposure on ITV1 tomorrow night gives sales another boost

Rhydian has done a photoshoot for TWOTW today - apparently we will see his 'new look' soon

Here he is with Liz McClarnon

Does anyone know why he always wears a beanie?

So he doesn't have to faff around doing his hair all the time!

A video of Rhydian's and OMA's performance at the Classical Brits as shown on ITV last night - and a great performance it was too. Many thanks go to Nonna for putting this up on youtube so quickly:

He thinks that if you can't see his hair that you won't recognise him

So he doesn't have to faff around doing his hair all the time!
That too

Great TV footage of Rhydian wearing the outfit of the night and sounding fabulous

Rhyd's appearance on the Shan Cothi show is on C4Wales on Sunday June 6th at 9pm - singing opera, wearing another great outfit and doing some smooching

Good Morning

A new blog by The Man on r-r

http://www.rhydian-roberts.co.uk/ind...id=7&Itemid=28

Thursday 20th May

Dear everyone,

Can I just begin by saying how I've loved reading all of your wonderfully
uplifting messages to me. Thank you one and all.

It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces as I got out onto the
Classical Brits red carpet. ( That was possibly the shortest car journey
ever!! Could have just walked it I reckon!) Anyway it was fab to have you
all there cheering us on. I hope you weren't too frozen by the end.

I had a really lovely time backstage with all the nominees and performers.
My favourite was Howard Goodhall. What a lovely, intelligent and facinating
man he was. A real honour and highlight for me that was. The music for
'Vicar of Dibley' and 'Mr. Bean' wouldn't stop playing in my head throughout
the whole conversation!! He's so cool.

I was delighted to be able to perform again on the RAH stage. It nearly
didn't happen though! Whilst warming up in one of the corridors 5 mins prior
to going on, i found that I had been locked in this space ( which was
soundproof) where no one knew where I was. My hair stylist was with me and
my runner but their mobiles didn't have any signal and they were locked in
with me! Finally someone heard me belting a top c ' help' and we were
released!! Notice I'm puffing at the start of my song having just sprinted
to the stage.

Anyway, just to say thank you to everyone who voted. I had a chat to the
organiser in the party who told me that we came 2nd out of 10, so well done
everyone!! It was close by all accounts.

What's news- I've just returned from Eltree where I had a day with Jeff
Wayne and Liz Macclarnon doing a photo shoot for TWOTW.

Next week I'm going on 'Shooting Stars' with Vic and Bob and Georgie Doors!!
It will be transmitted in August I think. Can't wait! It will be a laugh and
I have been a fan of that nonsense for ages!!

By the way, great to hear that some of you are coming to the eisteddfod in
August. I thought maybe you could set up a thread of songs that you would
like me to sing on that night. I will pick a winner and then perform it live
on the night. Remember it has to be in Welsh and with a live band. You can
suggest an english song that we can translate if you like. You have a week
to send in your favourites!!
Love you all so much

Rhyd xxx

I'm still chortling about that sprint to get on stage
Bet that high C sounded good!

....nothing is ever simple with Rhyd, is it!
Only he could get himself and his whole entourage locked in a corridor!

Thanks for posting the blog here, Sweet C.

What's he like! Fancy getting stuck in a soundproof room (or whatever it was)

Oooh so he's gonna be like Roger Mellie - Man on the Telly as he's appearing on 'Shooting Stars' - that's usually on BBC2 isn't it?

Looking forward to seeing the results of the photoshoot with Jeff Wayne and Liz McCLarnon.

Accident-prone Rhyd:-

too much spray tan before original XF audition

RSOL made a touch too tight

Mic pack dropped down the toilet just before Cardiff gig on solo tour

Tour bus takes the long way round from Cardiff to Bournemouth with queasy results

Voice warm-up drowns out orchestra playing on stage at Swansea and leader of the orchestra has to run off to tell Rhyd to pipe down

Bag stolen at Paddington Rail Station

Locked in soundproof corridor at RAH when due on stage at Classical Brits

Forgot to put on any clothes for a Cosmo photoshoot - oh wait that one was deliberate

Hi d0lphin

I'll be interested to hear about Rhyd's gig in Llandudno as I can't go to that one - I am looking forward to seeing him in Blaenarvon, at the Faenol Festival and at Porthcawl though - as well as WOTW too

Rhydian is going to be busy over the summer (there are other gigs in Cardiff and at the National Eisteddfod too) before he starts his WOTW tour.

*Resists making a joke about cheesy balls*

*Grabs one of Degsey's Maltesers*

Thought you might have been on your hols, Grim.

What I'm waiting for is some more gossip about 'War of the Worlds'. I wanna see some pics from this photoshoot that Rhyd mentioned in his blog the other week.
