Afternoon

I hadnt seen this before but this is another performance from the S4C show.
I'd never heard GTPS in Welsh before but - an epic theatrical performance from Rhydian
I bet he enjoyed all those cute girl dancers and their dresses

A lot of the recent discussions seems to be about Matt Cardle rather than Rhydian

Matt has a nice voice but I don't think he has Rhydian's charisma.

I still can't understand what so special about Matt's voice.
I've tried very hard to grasp the core of the 'fascination' about Matt's vocals, but failed totally. I can hear in his voice only forced falsetto which he uses to many times and it will cost him in a long run his voice. When he sings with his normal voice is nothing else than average.
Rhydian, for me, has got like million times better vocals. More versatile, powerful, better quality, powerful, more expressive.
Maybe it's just me, but I like the powerful men and Rhydian stepping on the stage oozes the confidence, power and charisma.

It's only the last few and that was because some idiot made an unnecessarily derogatory comment about Matt. I prefer Rhydian as a whole package but I think Matt has a lot of charisma too. They are my favourite two Xfactor artists

I like the fact that to me they both have lovely voices but so very very different

Hiya RATs!

I never really 'got' Matt but he can obviously sing and it is stupid to criticise him just because you prefer someone else. These people who do that on YT do the artist they are supporting no favours!

I'm with you Neels....Rhyd has the whole package!

Things are very quiet on the Rhydian front at the moment....I believe he is in the studio recording his third album....possibly the most anticipated yet!

I agree.

Matt's voice is little more than ordinary throughout.

Falsetto wouldn't ruin his voice if he either did it properly or could do it with ease but Matt's falsetto is a great strain and sung through his nose.

Likewise his attempts at singing high notes with any power. The few times he attempts to do that he is basically shouting. There is no musical tone to the sound he is making at all. That is something that will cause damage to a voice and if he's been singing like that for several years already it's only a matter of a very short time before the damage already done starts to show.

All that and the unreliability of his voice (on only one week did he not make noticeable tuning errors and ironically that was one of the weeks when he was supposedly at death's door) make Matt simply a contestant who was in the right place at the right time. In a more competitive year, he would have struggled to make the live shows.

..and back to Rhydian

I was probably as just excited about the first one and wasn't disappointed even though I didn't think that it had totally tapped into his potential. I hope that they do better re advertising it than they did with the second one.

I hope so too...he will need to get his face out there to promote the album...and he won't have a lot of time before he is straight into WWRY in March!

Getting some radio play could be a key factor!

I like Matt, good singer and I bought his CD. I prefer Rhyd but I enjoy Matt's singing Wouldn't mind hearing a bit of Nights In White Satin sung by a baritone either

Ohhhhh Grim, that concert isn't too far from you and not to pricey either. It would be great if you could go, looks like it's an all Rhydian gig for once

Just seen this on twitter (i'm just catching up), bet he'll throw in a few songs from his new album and may be the single we've been promised.
Is anyone going?

Oh poo, really is a shame Degsey as it's looks to be a good one, lots of Rhyd. There are a lot of fans going so hopefully there will be lots of footage captured

You're right, that is likely to be after any single release (possibly) so he could sing some new stuff.

A very good cause Neelia, MFA is one of the charities he spoke about supporting way back when he was on XF.

Indeed rattie and it is lovely that he has stayed true to it. I'm sure as his career develops there will be more opportunities for him to highlight this
