wow! That really is out of nowhere, I never expected that. I mean I knew The Killers were having a break, but I never expected solo material!

Quite excited for it though!

doesn't really surprise me... quite a few singers from established indie bands have released or are releasing solo albums recently

Kele (Bloc Party)
Julian Casablancas (The Strokes)
Paul Banks (Interpol)
err Liam Gallagher

Let's hope he proper Pet Shop Boys/Morrissey's it up. Indie glam is about 104 times better than indie rock.

Flamingo???

Dear god, I'm worried, I'm getting Joy Ride vibes from the name. Haven't heard the sample yet but I will do in a bit. I can't be arsed at the moment.

Anyway, I'll buy it, loyal to the cause and all that. Not to mention I've fancied Brandon since my joyous existance. Goddammit the man ought to be worshipped like a God.

The sample reminds me a tad of White Lies by Mr Hudson. It's alright, but it's not enough to go by at the moment.

Flamingo is a dreadful name.

The sample sounds very laid back and cool. Almost improvisation-sounding. Messing about in the studio.

Lay off Joy Ride!

There's something in the distance! A glorious existance! A simple celebration, a place we've never been before.

Won't you Kiss me, tell me that you want it mooooooooore.

I have no proof, but I actually said to my mate this would happen. He said they needed a break, and were growing sick of eachother a while back.

Joy Ride is crap. All you need to do is find a live performance of the song and look deep into Flowers' eyes: even he knows he sounds like a prat singing it. But then listen to This Is Your Life or Losing Touch and then we see why Brandon is worshipped as a personal Jesus in the deepest caves of Tibet.

Actually, in the video for The World We Live In, Brandon kind of reminds me of Jesus back in his wild days of carpenting.

And I'm now getting Barry Manilow vibes from the name Flamingo...

lol. The only song I didn't like on Day and Age was Goodnight Travel Well.

Took me ages to get into , that album, but I wouldn't mind the solo stuff being like it.

This Is Your Life is FANTASTIC. I love the chanting. Crippling Blow is great too as a bonus track.

I couldn't get into Goodnight at first either, but it's such a sad, beutiful song. Joy Ride is the only Killers song I dislike. I don't have the heart to remove it from my iPod though. I suppose it'd be nice at a summer barbeque, I think I'll save it for an occasion like that

Joy Ride was decent, it was I Cant Stay which I couldn't stand (and tbh, I wouldn't really hesitate skipping it if it came up on shuffle now )

Goodnight, Travel Well was one of the saviours of the album for me, without that, Losing Touch, A Dustland Fairytale, & This Is Your Life, it would've been a very meh album, by Killers standard at least IMO

I found it a bit disappointing but loved that track.

I LOVE Joy Ride. I love the extended Night version even more. (The free download that came with TWWLI 7")

Goodnight, Travel Well is the only song from D&A i'm not fussed on.

Anyone know when anymore details about the album are coming out? I'm actually really looking forward to this. I wonder if he'll do a Julian Casablancas and go all out pop? Probably, though The Killers MUST make an album before the end of 2011, or I'll have me a bitch fit.
