It was rather silly and a bit more like Carry On Doctor than Doctor Who

Loved that episode! Oh and IMO there's no romance thing blossoming - she just wanted a bit of fun that she could control after being so scared and vulnerable.

Bit disappointed with next weeks episode, it just feels like a lot of repeats so far apart from episode 1. Vampires - been there. Weeping Angels - done that. Daleks - bought the t-shirt! I'm hoping we have something different the week after next.

Watch the Series 5 trailer for my answer to that question

I LOVED it. Superb. Creepy, well executed, everyone was on top form.

So...does River kill the Doc then? Wonder if that 'spoiler' is in her diary...

I felt the same about the end scene - so you're not alone!

Quick question for those smarter than me, why are the Angels able to look at each other without being permanently turned to stone, as in Blink? I thought that was one of the reasons the gang were mostly okay in the labyrinths, since they had provided lights the statues were looking at each other.

I havent seen every episode of Dr Who, but that scene must have been a first? Maybe straying a bit far for Dr Who purposes as assistants have never "assisted" quite like Amy quite obviously intended.
It feels quite strange, and I dont think it fits.

To be honest, if anyone has doubts about Series 5 of Doctor Who I'd tell them to watch this two parter, it's brilliant, captures the style of the show and the direction it wants to go in, The Steven Moffat episodes are the best ones of the series again! ...I can settle with that, if we get a few crappy Moffat episodes and then a brilliant one/two parter then it's enough to hold it's own.

As for people being worried about the scenes, was I the only one who noticed The Doctor didn't like it either, as in this won't be repeated again.

It was very good, but I really wish that Karen Gillan was a stronger actress. I accept that many people like her, and she's certainly attractive, but she just doesn't carry the part for me.

He grew a brain following the *shudder* Rose incident... so no... hopefully it won't be repeated again.

Possibly, shes seen many of his faces, her doctor was 'older' and we know the doctor is there at her death. She could cause his regeneration to 12 in the long off future. Maybe SM knows how he is going to do the regeneration in the far off future

I think it's the eyes - as long as the Angels don't look into each others eyes they'll be ok.

Did anyone expect the date to be 2012?

That would result in this forum not existing

She's a young girl that wanted a bit of fun before she got married, and who better than her first crush? (And I'm sure most people would jump at the chance to shag their first crush.)

I don't want a romance between them but its clear it was a bit mocking of the romance previous.

Well I imagine this place will be full of various theories about the numerous plots that have ran through the series so far, and look like opening up as we move through it.

To summarise, TToA/FaS were great viewing just for the basic plot of them v Angels but all the plot twists, hints, resolutions and creations have meant many more questions have been raised rather than answered.

And that's brilliant. Really encouraging stuff so far, and much discussion about what may or may not happen to be had!

For the first time this series I'm voting excellent!

This episode, I finally became accustomed...Matt Smith felt like he WAS the Doctor. His emotion, his anger, his quirky eccentric manner-tonight I was convinced by it, and this was largely down to Matt's acting. Unlike VotD, it was a brilliant performance from him.

I found Amy very annoying tonight, but then again, I think that was the intention. I didn't like the snog at the end (despite being jealous of Matt!), but I'm presuming there was more to it than Amy wanting a quick ****, so I'm holding my judgement for now.

The Weeping Angels still remain the creepiest Doctor Who villain I've seen, and the fact they started moving at the end creeped me out even more! I'd love to see them back again in the future, but not too soon. I don't want them to run the risk of getting old.

The series has taken a while to get going for me, but tonight, it finally kicked off. I hope the rest of the series is up to scratch, and if it is, I certainly won't be disappointed.

Hang on a minute... I just found a plothole.

In Blink, the original episode with the Angels, the Doctor said that whenever they're looked at, they automatically turn to stone, which means they're not stone when they're able to move.

So how in the name of the Mighty Jagrafess of the Holy Hadrojassic Maxarodenfoe (or Raxacoricafallapotorious if you prefer ) was that Angel this week moving while it was stone...?

It's not as if the two episodes were written by different people, Moffat! If the people who make this stuff up can't keep it straight, then I daresay we're all doomed.

What a genius Moffat is.
RTD must be crying right now. He's literally being written out of history. Good riddance.

because normally they look at a human and you back in time and they take your power of the life you would of lead, but at the moment they have no power and can only kill people ie, bob they broke his spine etc

Loved that episode, again!

I have come to the conclusion that Matt Smith is portraying a brilliant Doctor. They could not have picked a finer replacement for DT. Brilliantly acted and plays the part of 'the madman with a box' to utter perfection.

One particular scene tonight really stood apart from the rest, in terms of atmosphere, and that was when the angels moved. Actually moved, on screen so you could see them moving. Very creepy and, again, brilliantly done.

I wasn't so keen on the ending because it just seemed a bit strange how she basically pounced on him. But it is a minor issue and certainly one that can be dealt with. I just worry that the rest of the series will struggle to maintain the standards set over these past two weeks. Future episodes may be good but inevitably they will be compared to these two episodes and, well you get my drift. Hopefully
