Apologies for expressing my opinion. The first episode "Blink" featuring the Weeping Angels is possibly my favourite Dr Who episode (and being 46, I've seen a lot). I just didn't like this one, is that a crime?

Not a crime at all.
The first "Blink with Sally Sparrow was one of my favourites, too, it was very clever.

well I don't mind saying it

if you cant understand a kids TV programme then you either are a bit thick or (more likely) too lazy to concentrate and not paying attention.

I thought that was an amazing episode, one of the best I can remember - actually kind of scared me a little too.

Do I care that people didn't like it - no - but its interesting to hear why... unless its simply I couldn't follow it.

Cos I don't respect that.

Its not like we're watching the Wire

I can. The Atraxi spaceship looked dreadful.

Hardly comparable to the 'farting' Slitheen. Just dreadful. I remember watching that first episode and I just could not believe what I was seeing.

That doesn't actually mean anything does it?

I mean sersiously, if it was something like "i am a pond" or something, ok, but this is just getting daft...

It can also mean

An iPod Car.

Maybe that's what cause the crack, Apple made an iPod Car which took things too far and caused the crack in time?

Maybe it's East European. If it was Pandorjca, it would be an anagram of 'A. J. Pond arc'. Amelia Jessica Pond?

(Actually, I can get on board with the possibility that Pandorica is a chinese-whispers version of "Pond, Jessica" - thereby making Amy's fairytale name the name of an actual fairytale.)

I think Pandorica is simply a reference to the greek legend of pandora's box(/Jar). That would also link in to the "thats just a fairy tale" line and the Myth computers.

I don't think there is any need to look for any further meaning in the word.

If there is it won't be an anagram.

Yes but considering that you were quick to judge Moff on a daily mail article.....I'm not sure I believe when you say that Moff won't make the same mistakes....because for you, anything you don't like means its an awful decision that a producer shouldn't make, forgetting the fact that only because you don't like it, and the so called "people" that you ask don't like it, doesn't mean others don't either...for example, the Slitheen, yes while not even that perfect for me...I think the idea behind them is fantastic...Aliens that literally skin you, and then use that as a disguise....that is quite a horrific concept, its probably why we had the farting, just to even it out a bit for something the kids to like about them as well, and kids do love the Slitheen, so RTD was succesful with those aliens. In Boom town we didn't have that much farting, and the Slitheen concept was used in even darker terms....with the idea that Margaret was pleading the Doctor not to send her to be executed from a dead woman's lips.

For all the crap that Slitheen are given by fans....there concept is very dark, and full of depth.

The farts, whilst not to everyone's taste, were very important in the plot, allowing the viewers to identify that Jackie was in danger when the Slitheen policeman visited.

The story behind them was excellent too. The biggest problem I had with them was that the CGI and prosthetics didn't match.

Care to explain why you feel like this? What about the storylines do you feel is missing? What aspects of Matt's performance do you think are lacking?

Is that meant to be a bad thing for Matt Smith?
I like him better than DT and I am glad they are not the same.

Plus I also like Colin Baker, maybe not as much as Tom Baker but he's certainly not deserving of being labelled as a weak comparison to Tom Baker.

tbh i like watching Doctor Who for doctor who not MS or DT or anyone else playing him.

i dont think its that big a deal that MS is playing him now. he's meant to be different, looks and personality wise, with every regeneration so why is it such a big deal when an actor wants to leave and they get someone else? i know people get used to seeing one face but that isnt what the doctors about or he would've just died when DT left.

tbh imo i didnt think DT was all that. (sorry but when i see him i think of "Davina" from Rab C Nesbitt lol!)

I agree. I've been watching the doctor for 47 years on and off and I've liked all of his incarnations (some more than others) but he's still the doctor and the important thing is the story.

Well, I'm late posting here again.

After a very shaky couple of episodes, that made me
wonder whether the magic had been lost, I voted 'excellent' for this and for the 2nd week in a row.

I'm one of those old farts who've been watching the show since 1963. We all have our favourite and mine was/is Patrick Troughton.

One swallow does not a summer make, but I felt that there was something of the Troughton on this week's episode - the anger and fidgeting and 'alien-ness'.

Got to agree. I've been watching since the beginning and Troughton was my favourite too.

Well, I say I've been watching, but I completely lost interest when Peter Davison became the Doctor. Nothing personal, I like Davison in everything else, I just couldn't buy him in the role. All I could think of was All Creatures Great And Small.

And Sylvester McCoy got right on my wick.

I also absolutely loved Blink and The Empty Child too. Class.

I'm not sure about the kissing. Maybe I'm being old fashioned here, but the Doctor kissing? Er, no.

abit of a late entry here for me too...got a well deserved excellent from me.
Really excited for the rest of the series now.
And intrigued by the 'odd one out' Doctor kissing Amy's head.
Amy still annoying me...I desperately want to find my 'Pond love' but her constant 'Doctor...Doctor' at the beginning was like fingers down a chalkboard.
Loving Matt Smith to pieces...utterly brilliant in the role.
Roll on next week!
