Anyone bought anything off them ? The tops look just like Topshop but the jumpers and jackets look cool. Though they seem to only have a lot of choice of jackets in the winter months

Yeah, I love Jack Wills! The stuff they sell is quite expensive but is definitely worth it for the quality.
I used to like Jack Wills, not into it so much anymore though. The clothes do last for ages, but it's rather over-priced for how plain everything is.
I quite like it but it's been getting worse over the past few years. It's not as subtle as it used to be and seems to be loved by preteens and younger teenagers (don't the idiots comprehend the University Outfitters slogan? 
)
I do have quite a lot of it but most of it is from 2008 and earlier - each season there seems to be less and less that I like.

You can get it much cheaper at outlet shops. My daughter bought a shirt for about £20 (instead of the usual £70+) from the Portsmouth shop. Who cares if it is last seasons?

I think people on this thread are making completely unfounded assumptions. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it for 'morons'. I agree 100% with Shackfan, not a chav in sight in the JW shops. And my cousin where's it and she is in her second year at uni so I think it spans all ages. I love Jack Wills but understand it is personal preference however name calling and generalisation is unnecessary!

I'll admit I was somewhat harsh in labelling the young wearers of the brand idiots (although why would you wear something for the university market when you're like 13?
) but your generalisation is just moronic.Jack Wills was launched almost a decade prior to London's A&F store opened so it's hardly a rip off as back in 1999 there were very few people over here that wore or even knew of A&F (these days most of the people you see wearing it here bought it in London). For that matter I wouldn't say A&F is a "poor man's Ralph Lauren Polo" either - granted there is some similarity but they do have quite a different style and each brand offers things the other doesn't.
Whilst I stand by my earlier assertion that Jack Wills' new collections aren't what they used to be the clothing is comfortable and of fantastic quality.

Ok so I get you don't like the clothing but do you really need to insult the people who wear the clothes?? I wear A&F, Jack Wills and Ralph Lauren. I am not Dumb, I've never worn fake tan and I'm definitely not a bleached hair lad so you got that wrong for a start.
I don't wear the clothes because of the label I started wearing A&F way before it became fashionable over here and I buy them because they are good quality and comfortable.

Jack Wills has been established for donkeys years. The fit, cut, and quality is far superior to A&F is every way.
Why are you telling me what I know/think? Jack Wills does have similarities with A&F and Ralph Lauren but they are not rip offs and do offer different looks. Ralph Lauren is classic and preppy, A&F has this cute, all American, sexy but wholesome style and Jack Wills is more relaxed and more English rah than American prep.
Yes I still think Jack Wills is good quality brand and am quite content with my clothing horizons thank you very much. I will agree that the clothing is washed out, faded and sometimes ripped given that it is supposed to resemble classic worn in sportswear.

I just go by the style: I like the style a certain shop offers, or I don't like the style a certain shop offers, and shop wherever accordingly.
All these generalisations about the people who shop in certain stores are ridiculous. Who buys *every* item of clothing in one specific shop? Nobody.
I have things from Gap, Primark, River Island, New Look, H&M, Peacocks, Ralph Lauren... the list goes on. What category do I fit in to then? (other than "clothing store whore" I have no loyalty to any brand

I agree. I have several things from A&F, Ralph Lauren and Jack Wills as well things by designers or from your everyday high street chains. Admittedly my wardrobe probably mainly consists of the first three but if I like something I'll buy it whether it be high street or designer.

Erm, because young teenagers want to emulate older ones? For the same reason kids want the same clothes as Cheryl Cole or David Beckham, no?
'university market' is laughable - what student can afford £70 for a top? I'm not a big fan of anything with logos all over it - very de trop - although if you like that sort of thing, enjoy it, don't feel you need to defend it.
