Floating Adverts
Mulett

anyone know how to close down the floating adverts that have started to appear over the threads? Maybe its just me, but they're obscurring the comments and don't seem to have the usual 'x' to click on to get rid of them.

This has been happening to me as well over the past couple of days. Really annoying!! Can't read the comments because of it!

Adverts, what adverts?

My Opera Adblocker works so perfectly, I've just about forgotten that Digital Spy pages even have adverts on them!

Just turned my internet explorer pop-up blocker to 'high' and it seems to have done the trick. Thanks guys.

I use Firefox and have a pop-up blocker, but it doesn't seem to be working on these.

I don't think they are meant to be floating over the pages. Pretty sure it's an error. Damn flash adverts, who needs 'em?

Chrome has got a great pop up blocker as well. It seems to work on adverts for youtube videos too.

threads likes this makes me wonder if the internet ad providers are not shooting themselves in the foot, they know ad blockers are out there, yet they think putting ad over the content of the website, is a good idea, how is that not going to lead to ad blockers becoming more common place.
