Rolling back firmware on a Sansa Fuze

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have just updated the firmware on the OH's sansa fuze, only to find Sandisk have ever so kindly put a limit on the volume so now you can't hear the music when in a noisy environment. I was just listening to the radio whilst using the bathroom and even when on full blast, the radio was drown out by the flushing toilet, which before the F./W update, anything above 50% volume would deafen you.

Is there anyway of rolling the firmware back to the old version now it has been installed? If there is, can someone give me directions on how to go about it or if there is a piece of software which does it for me, direct me to that please?

I think the update will just have changed the settings. Go into the System Settings menu and select Volume to High (assuming it's been reset to Normal by the update).

I have been thorugh all of the settings menus on the player, and there isnt an option to reset the volume. I have checked all menus including ones which it wouldnt be under.

I have just been told how to sort this problem out without having to roll back the firmware. Simple solution was to factory reset and then set the player to REST OF WORLD to bypass the EU regulations dictating the maximum volume levels of mp3 players.

Ah, OK. I thought I had the latest firmware on mine but there's a newer one that removes the High Volume option. Good to know you found the workaround though.

What i will say is there doesnt appear to be any difference in the firmwares except the newer one screws you over, or should that be the EU screws you over by adding the volume limiter to the player. I would recommend not updat6ing the firmware UNLESS you find you are having problems with the current installed FW, and then if you do install the newer one, don't forget to reset it and then set it to rest of world which opens up the volume control.

Thanks for that, I might've updated it otherwise.
