I see nothing of Donna in her, Rose perhaps, she is like a sulking child , all pouty, just like Rose, but Donna was a real woman, and she did not fancy the Doctor, she was his mate, the Doctor/Donna will never be bettered.

Nope, very much her own character-and far better than either Rose or Donna.

Or...no character at all as yet since she changes from one week to the next: honestly...you really must reign back tingy as it's doing you no good this constant SM Defence mode you're in this year...let others criticise if they wish, it's their right and not your destiny to answer every single one of them with a justification for someone who is actually in no need of such adoration: he's earning a fortune doing what he loves and clearly loving every minute.

I'll go along with that, too (though I did like Ace).

Perhaps that is part of her character - she might have a bipolar disorder. Or she isn't what she seems.

John, you're not getting it: her character is entirely consistent, in that she is, as a person, not consistent but actually quite screwed up. Check out the Pond love thread, we've been discussing this over there.

You mean that she fancies The Doctor but she's ginger?

The Doctor could've had his Ginger-ness right there!

I don't really see too much difference at the moment.

Seems to be generic 2005+ companion.

Crush on Doctor...mysterious past.

What is this magic difference with everyone past that people are seeing?

I'd say Donna's the best companion of New Who so far. I have to say I dislike what happened with Rose so my bias overrules judging her.

I like Amy though.

Well she's a redhead who is apparently possible the most important thing in the universe ever, or something like that. Just like Donna was.

We have Donna - the most imporant think in creation; and Amy - the most important thing in the universe. Who's better?

There's only one way to find out...

Wasn't it just Amy's crack is the most important thing to sort out? Not Amy herself?

Apart from the red hair connection, I don't see any similarity between the two. They are two totally different characters, I don't see Donna reacting the same way as Amy in tonight's episode. If she had to stay still with her eyes shut, Donna would have got mouthy and kick off. Amy didn't.
