Connecting mp3 player to car
Can someone tell me what the sound quality is like when you connect an mp3 player to your car stereo with one of those cassette adapters? With my current stereo, I can either do this or use one of those FM transmitters but I don't really like the idea of those.
The cassette adapters are so cheap and easy but are they any good? I don't need perfect sound quality, just good, clear sound with no interference. Also, if they are OK, can someone recommend one that I should buy or are they all about the same? Thanks

It's okay, you're more likely to have a problem with head alignment with the casette adapter which may cause poor audio if they're misaligned. Otherwise it should be okay once you've played with the volume from the mp3 player and the volume control on your stereo.
I'm considering using a tape adaper now I've got a new-ish company car which for some reason came with a casette player installed , I'm not allowed to rip it out and replace it with a CD player.

Ive got one, and use it with my ancient mini-disk player. The sound is quite good, but you have to get the audio levels right to get a god sound out of it - usually this involves setting your MP3 player volume to about 50% then using the car volume as you wish. If the mp3 player's volume is too high you will get dodgey sound.
They are quite a handy piece of kit for under a tenner. I'd certainly recommend it than paying £20+ for a FM transmitter (which are illegal anyways). |

Car CD kits are totally fine for hooking up your MP3 player. Just ensure you dont use your volume high on your player, use the Car's system for the volume.
I just went from a car with a casette player to one without, and I can only use a FM receiver. Not good. |

My wife uses one in her Fiesta, it sounds great. Probably a little bit better than my Belkin Tunecast II actually.
