Do signal boosters work?

I'm on Orange, and unfortunately live in a black hole, where the signal in my house is very poor, despite most of the town having a fairly strong signal.
I see loads of people selling signal boosters on ebay. Are these likely to help?

I used to be with T.mobile and, like you, lived in a 'black spot' in my area. I bought a signal booster, and found that it worked really well.

I'm on T-Mobile too and I bought one (only a pound). It didn't appear to make any difference. Maybe they work for some people.

Maybe try doing a manual roam by:

1. Scanning for networks manually
2. Choose a different network to the one you are on
3. Wait for your phone to say no access, or not allowed, or whatever
4. Scan Again
5. Select the network you are on

This will probably boost your signal

No it really does make your phone have more signal bars.

If that works, the same result would be achieved by switching the phone on and off.
