Why not. It would be so different, it would stand out.

Infact if she does do it, which is unlikely, I will vote for her.

I really need to see more younger/less sexy songs to help me see some of them as Dorothy - unfortunately, my brain isn't co-operating with me today so I can't think of any... (At one point, Bugsy Malone crossed my mind but 'Tallulah' would NOT fit the bill! 'Bad Guys' could be a fun group number though.)

So, instead, I'll agree with the poster further up - Sondheim might finally settle some of the 'who can act?' debates, as well as offering real singing challenges. There's a few in 'Into the Woods' that could qualify as young songs, too - 'Steps of the Palace', 'I Know Things Now' (not sure if that's the proper title?) and 'Giants in the Sky'. But I might just be chucking these in as it's one of my fave shows...

I would bankrupt myself voting for that I'd be so amused.

Forgot to mention before, my pick for Danielle was Fame because it's more fun than anything else she'd had, but then I did come up with that before Mambo Italiano

Me too.

Never had anything as mad on one of these shows, would make a refreshing change.

I'd love to see them all have fantastic song this week and give great performances. If my favourite goes out so be it, better that than saying someone left because she got screwed over.

And it least it would be something new instead of something that's been done before.

I know what you mean, for someone who has watched these shows from the begining, it's getting tired. There are plenty of new songs too, but too many rehashed ones. Lauren getting the man that got away, left me irritated. I want to hear something else.

here is hoping for a night with no songs at all from other shows.

I loved Jessica's version of Cabaret but it's the third time they've used it, you'd think Cabaret only had two songs - Cabaret and Maybe This Time. I love them both but it's wearing thin.

Speaking of Cabaret I'd like to see one if the girls do 'Wilkommen'

I'm will also vote myself dry for the contestant who does Defying Gravity with green makeup.

Yeah, that would be great.
I'd also like Don't tell Mama, but perhaps that's not quite in the spirit of Dorothy. I can see Sheila objecting

I'd love to see a girl do Mack the Knife (I missed my chance last week I know). One of my favourite performers of all time Camille O'Sullivan does it in German and it's awesome.

Way beyond most of these babes, I know.

Hmm - suggestions
Far from the home I love (very dorothy, but Andrew ignores Fiddler for some reason.)

Ooh, I've just thought, final six next week, we could have two trios - Matchmaker, Matchmaker and Three little maids from school!!

If I loved you (from Carousel)
Popular (I really, really want this one)
Somewhere
Anything Goes
On the Street where you live
A fine fine line (from Avenue Q)

Actually I'd love to see someone tackle one of the girls songs from Guys and Dolls, some great ones there. 'If I were a bell' was used in the Canadian Maria show

As for unused songs from Cabaret, I'd love to see someone try "Mein Herr", but I think these girls might be too young for that yet.

I wonder if they'll major more on classic musicals or more modern ones. I've mentioned several times on Danielle's Appreciation Thread that I would love to hear her sing "I'm In Love With a Wonderful Guy" from South Pacific. For a more modern one, possibly "The Wizard and I" from Wicked.

For the other girls:

Steph--"Too Darn Hot" (film version) from Kiss Me Kate, or "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from JCS

Lauren--Something upbeat. Maybe "Popular" for her.

Sophie--"Big Spender". Just to see if she can pull it off.

Jenny--"Hopelessly Devoted to You"

Jessica--I like the "Little Girls" idea, but I also wonder if she can do something more earnest like "Part of Your World" from Little Mermaid.

It would be lovely to hear Lauren do Defying Gravity, Steph do Somewhere and Jessica do something like You'll Never Walk Alone or I dreamed *a dream

Loving some of the suggestions on this thread but have a sinking feeling that about half of them will sing numbers from jukebox musicals. Yes, pop songs again.

Hope not though, but they did use up some great showtunes in Big Band week.

I'd like to see Jessica do The Worst Pies In London from Sweeney Todd... I could see her being good as the crazy crazy Mrs Lovett, her excessive facial expressions would actually work well for once.

Also I'd quite like it if they did One Short Day from Wicked as one of the group performances (not necessarily this week, just in general), it's such a Dorothyish song, and they did The Wiz a couple of weeks back so it would make sense to do something from Wicked as well since they seem to go on an Oz theme for some of their group performances!

I'd like Danielle to do something from Next To Normal... although that's probably too obscure for most of the audience to know.

It would be very brave to do that in front of Sheila Hancock!

I think Rainbow High from Evita would be a good group opener, and fit in with the theme (sort of).

Yeah I was thinking how One Short Day would be a good group song to do. For Good might make agood sing-off song too actually...

I'd love to see one of the girls to do Popular, maybe Sophie.

Let's just have a Wicked themed week!

Would love some of the underused songs from Cabaret. It's my favourite musical!

And yes, Fiddler and G&S could/should be used more.

Would love Too Darn Hot. And Sophie doing Big Spender would make or break her in the competition. Little Girls - not having seen Annie, that just makes me think of Gigi...

The answer to a problem called Jessica may have to be dramatic - Think of Me from Phantom should do it?

oooh ... i just wrote a post and lost it ... here's what I remember;

Sophie - I don't know how to Love him, a big song for sophie to take on. I think she really needs to impress this week or could be in trouble, and I do think she could do well with this.

Danielle - Hopelessly Devoted to You, a bit of a cliche i guess, but would give Danielle a chance to show off her vocals in a ballad, also show a naive side to her.

Lauren - I hope she gets a fun song this week, that she can put her character into. Maybe something like "Fine Line" from Avenue Q.

Steph - I would love Steph to sing "Circle Of Life" from the Lion King. Or "Only the good die Young" from WWRY.

Jessica - the Pie Song (I forget it's name) sang by Mrs Lovatt in Sweeny Todd.

And I can't really think of anything for Jenny, maybe a Mamma Mia Song?
