Dr Who (Matt Smith's) Temper
I am new to Dr Who (only watched this series). I noticed that so far the Doctor had 'lost it' three times. Once in 'The Beast Below' and two in ep. 5 we saw last Saturday.
Now, do you think this 'rare' burst of anger will increase in the coming episodes and then maybe one ep. it will threaten to consume him (tempt him to embrace the 'dark side')? Sorry if this is a silly question. Maybe the other Doctor incarnations had their fair share of 'tempers flare' moments as well. |

Aren't virtually all the Doctors [or at least the actors who play them] Labour supporters?
David Tennant, Peter Davidson, Tom Baker and Matt Smith? Could be wrong though. Also Jon Pertwee's son. Come to think of it, if the Tories cried about The Apprentice being on at election time why aren't they crying about Doctor Who?

![]() I straddle between quite a few forums. Serious ones like the Politics (normally lurk until now the elections), Then silly, frivolous ones like Strictly Come Dancing thread (which is where my screen-name came from), Dancing On Ice. And recently, at Easter, when I finally watched Dr Who because I knew Matt Smith as an (relatively) unknown actor whom I admire as a good actor, thus the Cult/Dr Who sub-forum. So now can you see the confusion?

Well don'r go and make some lengthy political statement on Dancing On Ice or they might come and cart you away.
I guess when the election is over, I will revert to 'lurking' mode in this forum.

Tom Baker could rant when the pressure was on. I personally love a Dr who can let rip sometimes. And as I've said before, Matt Smith is, for me, the best Doctor since TB, without a doubt

I think the first Doctor and the sixth Doctor are going to be hard to beat.
The first Doctor was particularly nasty at times, anyone seen the original pilot? Cripes, he was evil lol. The main feedback it got was that the Doctor should be nicer for it to become a series. The sixth Doctor actually called his companion evil and then strangled her to the floor. But I guess that was soon after his regeneration, but he was grumpy most of the time after that anyway.

The Doctor losing his temper is nothing new. As has been mention, the Sixth Doctor was the best one for this as was the first but even the nicer Doctors like Troughton and Davison has their moments.

I think it is refreshing that the Doctor loses his temper occasionally.

That's right. Troughton lost his temper in Evil of the Daleks and I can remember Davidson losing it a few times.

Really? I didn't know. I feel like a child who's just discovered Dr Who series and everything is new to me and so I guess my OP looks a little silly now.
![]() I used to get them from the local library along with enough additional books to fill a shopping trolley (yes I took a shopping trolley to the library when I was a kid and they let me use the library cards of my siblings and parents as well as my own). I could get through a book every two days back then on all sorts of subjects. |

5 got angry with Adric at the start of Earthshock over nothing, but that is the only time I've seen 5 being angry.
