To be fair that was written for Torchwood and has never been used in Doctor Who (unless I am misremembering). It's an epic piece of music though.

What a refreshing change to see "prefer" in a thread title
![]() I'll always be a sucker for Rose's Theme as it just pushes all the right buttons for a piece of music - overall, we are so lucky that RTD brought Murray Gold on board for the series as I think his compositions have done us proud as was beautifully highlighted in concert form. |

For me it's Amy's theme ... that track has so many layers
I must say Murray has always done a fine job with his theme's, every track certainly represents the character it depicts |

Think I prefer Martha's theme - it's got a very Clannad/Robin of Sherwood vibe

Appearantly Murray would have confirmed on Twitter that this is the new Doctor's Theme

I think Rose's Theme wins hands down, Martha's is sort of okay, not really that keen on the other two!

![]() She wasn't my favourite companion, but of all the themes, this is the one that sends a tingle down my spine. |

I love Martha's theme haunting and beautiful, but I also like Donna's theme as I think it sums her up perfectly

I equally like Amy's and Rose's.
I don't really get on with Martha's or Donna's for some reason, no idea why. I also really like both DT's and MS's doctors themes, I couln't really choose a favourite between then. I can't even remember CE having one, although I presume he must have. Hasn't made much of an impact on me obviously. |

I love the others too, they are all very different to each other, and suit the characters very well! |

I like Rose's theme the best, although Martha and Amy's themes are also beautiful. I like Donna's the least to listen to - just sort of prefer the haunting tune and melody of the others - but it does suit her character.

Out of those, my favourite is probably Amy's Theme. I like Rose's but after her return in Series 4 episode The Stolen Earth, it sounded a bit....whiney. On its own, its a great piece of music though.
Martha's Theme has a very British feel to it, and this is realised entirely in The Lazarus Experiment. Nice music here. Donna's theme captures her comic nature marvelously but fails to capture the emotion she developed in her Series 4 stint- it feels very much tied to The Runaway Bride. For Donna, the saddest theme has to be The Rueful Fate of Donna Noble.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIGzl...eature=related I have to say though, that my favourite piece of music from the Doctor Who Universe though is actually Gray's Theme....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQsrrSzwfmU followed by Torchwood's Judgement Day.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9CfE8dzC1o ![]()

Listening to that, does Amy's theme remind anyone else of Sigur Ros?
I think my favourite is Martha's theme though - easily the most epic of the 4 plus jacks. |

Yes, I believe Donna does have three themes, seeing as she was part of 'The Threefold Man'.
Although it should then be considered that Martha also has Martha's Quest, Martha Triumphant and Only Martha Knows, while Rose also had Rose Defeats the Daleks and Rose in Peril. It can be argued that she also shares The Doctors Theme in Series 1 as it is used more as a channel for 'weird things going on' rather than something identifiable with The Doctor- it plays when Rose reads the Bad Wolf graffiti, and the Doctor isn't in this scene at all.
