Yep, I think this is right and if so a true stroke of genius from Moffat!

Yep, definitely seems like a future Doc11 goes back to that point to comfort Amy as he knows she is alone.

If this is the case, he doesn't seem to be bothered about crossing his own time line. I guess with history changing, it doesn't matter if he does that any more.

Besides which, no time lords around to punish him... or maybe for the time being anyway

True, but even when the Time Lords weren't around Doc10 said various times he couldn't cross his own time line.

I think the reason he went back to her then was because he needed to know something - he says that it's important that she remembers what he said when she was seven but she doesn't and that upsets him.

Something must happen to Amy that means she's starting to forget him as well as the Daleks etc.

Except for cheap tricks.

I think what he did was alright though. Cos Amy had her eyes closed so couldn't have known when her Doctor left the room and as far as I know the other troops who were meant to guard her weren't watching her that closely, so I don't think any time Paradoxes were in danger of being broken.

I've looked over this scene and I think that in the trailer for Vampires in Venice The Doctor has a new but similar jacket as the angels got his last one. It is difficult to see but I think it may be this new jacket in the scene mentioned.

I hadn't noticed this while watching the episode, but having looked back in iPlayer having seen FMs like yourselves suggesting it, I can't believe I missed it. I remember thinking that the Doctor was quite forward with the big kiss on the forehead and that it didn't quite connect with what had gone before... however I just thought it was comfort. Which it was, but these theories make so much sense! I hope it is the case, brilliant!

In The Eleventh Hour when little Amelia was sitting outside waiting for The Doctor to come back there was a shot looking out of the window from inside the house. At that moment someone ran past the window.

Now that we suspect that The Doctor with the jacket is from the future could the person running across the window in The Eleventh Hour be The Doctor.

Oh, I LOVE iPlayer - going back and seeing these bits I missed first time round.

I'm now loving this series even more as a result of your reveals. I'm intrigued to see how the story arc pans out. I think Matt Smith is becoming my favourite Doctor and Amy is a great companion (and Karen Gillan has the most hypnotic eyes I have ever seen.)

I think he can't cross he own time lines if it changes the established history. All he did he was to go back to Amy and offer her a little comfort.

I also think the Doctor will go back to young Amy at the end of the series, to the point where he meets her at the end of the episode. That's why he was telling Amy "Remember what I told you when you were 7".
