I had Lewis fail luckily I notice a few minutes in and started it manually.
I have also had problems with The Prisoner failing on the past two episodes as well. These failures to record have happen 3 or 4 times the past week which is nearly twice as many times I have had over the past year. |

I've recreated my links using 119 instead of 103 now. I really hope this doesn't happen again. The main reason I got the Foxsat was to give me access to ITV HD to take some of the 'load' off my Sky box. I'd really like to trust the Foxsat for all my FTA viewing but this has knocked me back a lot especially since ITV don't seem to be repeating Lewis in either SD or HD. I might try it online but that's a pain to set up and unlike iPlayer I often have problems with it.

It's odd that some people have had a problem with Lewis and others haven't. My box recored it without any problems. |

My series link 119. We bought Foxsat before we upgraded VM to VM+, now using Foxsat to take load of VM+. (Son and wife have a lot of recordings to watch and 3 x Dr WHo + Dr W Conf all on VM+)
Our Prisoner appears to have recorded ok on Foxsat |

Same question did you set a series record link for the HD version from 103? I have The Prisoner on series link (119) so far no problems at all.
I think ( trouble is you do these thinks without thinking to much ) I went the 103 way. All my one-of recordings with ITV have been OK and so has all the BBC HD ones and also Lumleys Nile has recorded in series link without fault but again I cannot be certain that I originally set this through 103 or 119. Like you and Andrue have pointed out that I need to get into the habit of using 119 only and hopefully this will solve this problem. Just a after thought, when you select the HD version of a programme via 103 it shows up on the EPG as 119 and not 103 so is this switching causing the problems ?. Funny couple of Freesat days - I too lost a load of Lewis on Sunday - it only recorded 86 minutes - had to drag out the PC to catch up with ITV Player. Get it on the Humax soon!!
But then the box made it all up yesterday by recording the delayed Great British Menu for 1062 minutes - I think it would have been more but it decided to stop when it had filled the hard drive!! And we live in Oxford where Freeview has been playing up for 3 months. Virtually no Mux 68 stuff - ITV1 etc. The joys of digital! |

Sky's problems are usually that recordings don't playback (or not properly) whereas in my experience Freesat/view problems are failing to record anything at all. I wonder what we'd get if all three combined? A flawless system or one that failed to record half the stuff and failed to playback the other half?

I've had my box since almost the first day and it's only failed to record about 3 programmes. People I know with Sky+ seem to have a lot more problems so I wouldn't worry about it unduly.

Smashing piece of kit and every month Sky continue to insist on a minimum of £10 to record FTA channels then the box just gets cheaper. Must be £180 not given to Sky now.

If you find, after a month or so, that your Humax is not recording virtually everything you ask it to or not playing things back properly then you should ask for a refund/replacement.I think the experience of most here who've had their boxes since near the beginning is that (possibly apart from problems with the ITV 'red button' bodge), months will pass without a failed recording. I've never experienced a recording that does not play back properly. Looking at the number of posts you're making about a box you've only had for a couple of weeks and comparing that with the experience of most who've had one a lot longer, it looks as if you may well have a dud. |

I'm surprised Sky continue with that £10pcm offer. OTOH if they did get rid of it it could be a serious blow to Freesat. More channels and more HD content.
While it's there the majority will continue to at least pay Sky £18 per month and get a few pay channels as well. |

It's a retention tool. With from July, all the main free HD channels being only available on Sky, there might be a few who would cancel their subs if they could carry on using it as a PVR with more free HD than any other platform.

We missed Lewis from HD (failed recording - no reason), but it did appear next week's schedule. In any case I've deleted it and readded.
Also, Three in a Bed last night on Channel 4 - in the schedule, but didn't work. No failed recording in the guide - Foxsat just decided to ignore the scheduled programme! Deleted it and readded for next week. Not happy, and nor was the misses. Thank goodness for ITV Player and Channel 4OD. |

Just stopped Mrs Harassed throwing the Foxsat out of the window. Missed Lewis last week - think we took the 'record the HD version' option while looking at the 103 channel info on the guide. Having calmed her down and set everything up again, it not only failed this week but even though we took the time out to check the recording we still managed to miss the first 30 minutes again.
Tried to convince her it wasn't the box's fault, but it is only the Foxsat that misses series recordings at the moment. The old Pace PVR2 Sky+ hasn't missed a recording in years. Hard to convince her to put anything on the Foxsat now as we have lost confidence in it actually recording the show. |

Hard to convince her to put anything on the Foxsat now as we have lost confidence in it actually recording the show. I was monitoring the channel to make sure it started to record, gave it 10 seconds then pressed manual record. So I still not have a clue why Lewis fails to record but I did have the new series of Seasons recording ahead of Lewis and that kept the HDR recording right up to a few seconds before Lewis started. The same thing as last week happened with the EPG listing next week series record of Lewis a few minutes into this weeks manual record so the machine is thinking oh well we missed this weeks Lewis so lets make sure we don’t miss next weeks. ![]() Next week I am going to try Lewis on a one off record and see if that works. |

I have a Humax Freesat+ with Lewis on series link. No problem last week and no problems with any other programmes except Lewis tonight. It's a great system, very few problems, but I think there has been some kind of technical glitch out of our control.
