Exactly the same here for 2 weeks running, all other programs on ITVHD have recorded perfectly

<snip>

If it is a Humax problem then why is it only this particular program that is affected in this way?
I will set in padding for next week.
It isn't just this programme. I also lost The Prisoner weekend before last. Curiously I also lost CSI New York which was being broadcast at the same time(*) so I wonder if the problem with ITV HD just confused the hell out of the box.

After that I switched to a minute's padding on either side and my box got both shows this weekend. Well to be strictly accurate at the moment I can only say that both shows are in their own folders and are the correct length - I haven't got round to watching either.

(*)Ironically my much maligned Humax 9200T stepped into the breach saving me the bother of hunting down a repeat. I still had CSI NY programmed and for once it hadn't forgotten

Guess what, same problem - again.
After last weeks no record I checked, Lewis in scheduler, Lewis marked as set to record in Guide (HD). Sunday 9th, no record. Just like Nuke, Lewis ended up not in a folder but loose in the root showing 0 as length of recording and then usual error message. I also have mine setup auto ie no padding.
I have deleted series recording and reset to record series hd from next week. Somehow I am not very oprimistic!

I have had the Prisoner fail two times although last Saturdays episode was ok.

That said 10 minutes into watching this weeks Prisoner I stopped and deleted it because being a big fan of Danger Man and the original Prisoner I have found this series dismal.

I never watched the original and so far I've been quite impressed with production values. I wouldn't class it as a must see but it was mildly annoying that the previous week's failed.

What was more annoying was trying to figure out the synopsis for various showings throughout the week. Maybe I'm just not invested enough but descriptions like 'Number 66 talks to number 2 about number 73 having an affair with number 27" just confused the hell out of me

In the end when I recorded what I thought might be a repeat it turned out to be a sixties version and I haven't been bothered enough to go to iPlayer again.

Everyone I know who's watched this new version says it's utterly dire compared with McGowan's version.

Well, have a little think about it.

People were talking about about a programme called 'The Prisoner'.

There was a very famous programme called 'The Prisoner' developed by and starring Patrick McGoohan.

Sometimes people misspell words, especially proper nouns (even though they should have looked them up if unsure ) .

Can you make any connections?

For what it's worth I can now confirm that my box recorded Lewis just fine. It wasn't a very impressive HD offering though. I've seen worse but it quite soft to my eyes.

They sure do. Especially when posting a pointless hearsay comment which adds nothing to the discussion. It is not even on topic.

As, indeed, was this post and your last in this thread.

And (since the discussion of the prisoner had started before I mentioned it) I'd dispute that it added nothing.

I missed the first episode and on asking a number of people what they thought of it, each one said it was awful and they weren't going to bother with the rest of the series because it was so bad.

BTW, it doesn't really qualify as 'hearsay', either because I was reporting people's opinions not stating a fact about the quality of the production so my comment was direct testimony.

Tell that one to the judge. He could do with a good laugh.

You clearly don't know much about the laws of evidence.

Obviously what people told me is hearsay as evidence of the details of the programme. However, it is perfectly admissible as evidence of what they told me which is what I was reporting here.

i.e.

Admissible:

Barrister: Why did you not watch the new version of 'The Prisoner'?

Witness: Several people told me it was rubbish.

-----

Inadmissible:

Barrister: Is the new version of 'The Prisoner' any good?

Witness: No.

Barrister: How do you know?

Witness: Several people told me.

----

The difference is subtle but important.

but will the Judge make my humax record next Sunday's Lewis?

I gather the other day the Queen expressed a wish to go 50 / 50 or phone a friend especially after the mess she got into after having asked the audience !

I don't know but it's more worrying this week as I'll be away and won't be able to monitor the box.

I swear by almighty god that Lewis and The Prisoner has failed to record on several occasions and that is the truth and nothing but the truth.

I have both a Foxsat HDR and a Sky HD box, both separately fed with dual cables from a quad LNB. I have been series recording Lewis from ITV1 HD on the Sky box, with no problems. The next Lewis I will set to record on the Foxsat HDR as well, and see what happens, I can then directly compare them, and report back.

Just had to start tonights Lewis manually. Failed to auto record again on 103. Who do I need to complain to? Is this an itv problem?

Foxsat HDR failed to record Lewis.

Sky+HD box recorded Lewis correctly.

Sky+HD box recorded Lewis correctly.
Same here, had to do a manual start for the third week running.

I got the same thing as last week in that Titchmarshs Seasons continued to record a minute into Lewis and when I tried to start Lewis manually I had a message come up saying “Processing a Timer Event” with a OK button to clear the message.

I had to wait a minute before I could start the recording.

Some people learn from their mistakes with the exception of ITV.

Mine has failed to record the last 2 weeks, strangely 2.5.2010 was fine.

Ditto. 3 weeks running Lewis did not series record with Humax Freesat HDR.

First week as a failed recording with Zero minutes at the foot of the recordings.

Second week just did not even attempt to record.
Deleted the Schedule and reset it again to series record.

Third week (tonight) again did not even attempt to record.

This has to be an ITV problem with this programme as all of my many other schedules are recording perfectly.

Same on my hdr. Failed to start recording, no file of any description created.. Schedule still contains reservation but now has no programme info. Manual recording is working fine. The seasons just before it has recorded with no problems. What the devil are ITV 1 HD doing ??

Failed here as well - third week running. May be unrelated, but I remembered to watch the start to see if it attempted to record (which it did not) and the info bar was still showing the previous programme for the first couple of minutes of Lewis (got to 2105 before changing, just the end of the credits at the start). We did a backup recording on the Sky+ (non-HD) and it recorded without issue.

Same here... the useless pea brains at ITV just don't seem to get it that THEY have a responsibility to ALL their PVR owning viewers to GET THE EPG RIGHT!!! Sheesh! (tm) It's NOT rocket science!
