People still aren't getting the difference between: "just another job" as professional actors see it and...

...OH MY GOD IT'S DOCTOR WHO I MUST KILL MYSELF IF I DON'T GET IT! as fans see it...

...a job is a job is a job - if you happen to enjoy doing it (as some DW actors have, some haven't) then you are lucky but if you audition for it (allegedly) a decade ago...you're not jealous over someone who's playing it now, silly boy - that's just thinking fanspeak.
I had no idea you had been auditioned.

Oh wait...

lol, I'm a writer, not an actor: I find it difficult to bridge the disparity between what is "just another job" as it is considered (be it enjoyable or not) by those that do it and the...OMG this must be the most wonderful thing ever and in thirty five years you have to tell me your thoughts on that scene where you blinked twice in front of the Dalek - what were you thinking because it's my FAVOURITE bit ever!

He strikes me as being one of those so-called comedians who gets a cheap laugh out of someone else's expense.
Alan Davies was touted as being a good candidate for a possible new Doctor about eight years ago, I think he might be a tad jealous that he never got the chance

I shouldn't have said anything....seriously i doubt it very much....the man has his own show...that gets as much as viewers as Doctor Who sometimes....he even has the Eigth Doctor's Companion as well...and i have seen tweets from him praising the show...(well him or Stephen Fry, can't remember which now, as it was the time when Waters of Mars aired)...but whatever the case I don't think jealousy is the case....just the usual Joke that people have made about Matt since he was chosen...and thinking about it, it wouldn't be a dog, considering that Karen was sat right next to him.

lo, but he DOES look like a 12 year old...and a 40 year old...and a 100 year old...and a 905 year old...that's why he's The Doctor
Good point!!!!!

I think it is referring to the Graham Norton show.

Sheridan Smith played the 8th Doctor's companion in some BBC audiobooks, I believe and she is also Jonathan Creek's current assistant.

Not audiobooks and not BBC. The Big Finish audios are full cast dramas, effectively radio plays. An audiobook is just someone reading a book aloud.

Argh, wanted to see this for Karen (and Alan Davies actually, uh, but for different reasons) yet cannot STAND Graham Norton. Tried running it on iPlayer but had to switch off after a minute or two was so annoyed by the twerp.

She did come across as a bit nervous and self-conscious but in a good way. It can't off been easy sitting on the same sofa as Jennifer Lopez - who in turn was funny and a bit touch-feely towards the lucky Alan Davies.

All in all it made me like her more and GN thankfully took the Doctor Who complaints well.

Now if he could get a decent music act on.

Shame she didn't get to do much. Ok, it's not surprising that Jennifer Lopez would be the main guest (and she was a lot funnier than I expected, too) but I only tuned in for Karen, so wished she'd have had more time. Got to say, she seems really shy - always covering her face when someone made a joke that related to her. She seems really sweet.

Plus, I loved seeing the Graham Norton cartoon get exterminated by the Dalek!
Ditto everything you said exactly! Enjoyed the ep! JLO and Alan hilarious and got on well. Wasn't interested in her at all before, tuned in for Karen, JLO reminds me so much of a friend which I didn't realise (never seen her interviewed before).
Same w. Christina Ricci. Are all his guests funny or does he bring out the best in them?
<3 Karen though.

Nope.

Got the impression they were told not to touch JLo though. Usually the guests all shake hands/hug/kiss. But nothing until the guy from the band came over and shoke hands with them all. She did come over a lot better then I expected though.
He strikes me as being one of those so-called comedians who gets a cheap laugh out of someone else's expense.
Well JLO clearly found him hilarious and had her hands all over him at a couple of points..

Aww, I love Graham! I always kinda liked him but a few weeks ago I realised how quick witted he is! He can be genuinely hilarious about something unscripted which just came up and handle any situation. His guests have a riot, and you can tell he does too, and he brings out the best in them. Some of the funniest clips on youtube are from his show imo. Hard not to be in hysterics when everyone on the show is. I can't think of another talk show in any country I've seen which is like that (although correct me if you know of one). Also like how the guests are together unlike on JRoss. Maybe you find him annoying in ways but try and maybe find him hilarious also?

I've been trying for years, he just always strikes me as boring, cringeworthy and a disgrace to the name of 'comedy'. He's fluff, suitable only for light entertainment where he can say things that are considered 'shocking' that wouldn't cause so much as a raised eyebrow in most circles. Honestly don't know where he got the reputation for 'quick-witted' from (although that's not a knock on this post, I've seen it plenty of other places), Spike Milligan in his 70's was faster on his mental feet and most comedians will run rings around him. His schtick is tired, overplayed, boring and I think he's the most overrated waste of money the BBC have on the books.

That's refering to his TV persona of course, off screen he could be quite charming but that doesn't really help much when dealing with him on the box. The ONLY reason I'll watch anything he's involved with is if there's a really good guest on and even then it's a struggle. Lesson from today is I simply can't listen to him on headphones, it'll have to wait until I'm back home and can stick it on in the background or something.

Norton is deeply annoying, but you have to give him credit for the Dalek extermination bit, and for 'i played the prestigious part of man who ruins the end of the episode'.

And Karen, I thought, was wonderful.

Jut watched KG on GN on Iplayer and apart from looking unbelievably hot(and those legs, those legs!) I thought she came across as very pleasant and friendly. Sometimes when you see that, I wonder why so many people dislike her so much. I can understand if either her or her character acted like a bitch, but neither do.

Also liked the way GN took the humour with the banner thing with good grace. I don't like any of the reality shows he does but anything else he does I'm quite happy to watch. He could quite easily have taken the p**s a lot more and he I thought he helped put KG at her ease.

Am I the only person in the world who loathes Alan Davies?
No. I reckon the bloke in this story isn't too keen on him either:

I didn't think Karen got much coverage, it just seemed to all be about J-Lo, poor Alan Davis hardly got asked anything at all so I found it a disappointing interview. She did indeed look stunning though.

No he is a total ignorant git, horrid on set and detests working with Sheridan Smith. The second to last JC was a nightmare shoot for all except him.

That's a shame. I've always loved Jonathan Creek. Who were you in it?
