Something Very Strange About 'the Eleventh Hour'... (spoilers)

Ok, so I can't claim this as my find, as it's one of my close friends finds. She told me that after watching the Eleventh Hour on repeat this weekend, she spotted something very strange in one particular scene...

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/635...0319h35m09.png

Is my young friend correct in suggesting that in the corner, comatose in the bed, is the Doctor? Steven Moffat DID say that there was something really obvious in the episode that people will say "how did he get away with that" later on in the series... maybe it's not the whole 'going back to young amy in the TARDIS' that was the 'obvious thing', maybe it's this?

And earlier in the episode, after constant re-watching, she noticed that the figure that runs across in Amy's bedroom, isn't Prisoner Zero as first thought, but perhaps Amy in her dressing gown, or the Doctor in his coat...

If it's the Doctor, does this then link to the apparent theme that he's going back to each adventure, as he went back in 'Flesh and Stone' to comfort Amy...

We could both be wayyy off the mark, and as I suggested, the man in the bed DOES have shorter hair, but if he's a future Doctor, surely that would fit?

Just got to find him in the other episodes now...

Any thoughts?

Hmmm, it's hard to tell from that image whether it's the Doctor or not. I mean, if it was the Doctor wouldn't Rory have been spooked when he first met him, as he (the Doctor) should've been in a coma?

Have you got a clip of the person running across Amy's bedroom by the way? I can't remember it.

I don't care whether it's true or not - that DOES look like the Doctor (in a kind of blurry "Roswell" kind of a way) and if it is then this is far more of a timey-wimey paradox than even I had thought...I might have to go back to Easter to watch the last episode of this series!

That was another point raised by both of us, but we countered that with the dates screwing up around Rory (his badge & car), (meaning he could be an unwilling participant in whatever is happening - especially if it's bad) and the fact that the Doctor has the ability to put perception filters on things.

That could be anyone really, I'm not even 100% sure it's male.
Anyway how could he be there and in the other place at the same time, unless it's another version of him, but then why did no-one notice it?

If there's something darker going on, then you could explain it with anything. But I think there's a perception filter... if it IS the Doctor in the coma (or perhaps pretending to be) then he'd have a reason to be there, and therefore would need to hide himself - much like in series 3 with the perception filter TARDIS keys.

In relation to this poser... can anyone enlighten me as to why the comatose patients were calling for The Doctor at all ?

How do they know him ? Was it simply that Prisoner Zero was calling for him or something more because there is no reason I can see that the TARDIS would have crash landed there at the beck and call of an escaped prisoner..... unless it was one of the Time Lords damned by Rassilon at the end of End Of Time ?

I suppose a perception filter could've been put round the Doctor so no one noticed him. Then the question is why.

The thing about clues is they have to be really noticeable. They might not be taken as clues straight away, but they should be clear so the audience can be gobsmacked that they missed it. The Doctor potenitally appearing in a corner bed, and so blurred as a still even that no one can be sure whether it's him or not, seems a bit too obscure for me.

Then again, it might not be intended as a clue to the audience but some sort of clever trick later down the line that the audience weren't supposed to have knowledge of so...who knows?

D”

Probably just calling him because he'd finally come back after 12 years...

And well to be honest, nobody can really choose where they land if they're in an out of control vehicle crashing towards the earth... especially not a time machine like the TARDIS.

It looks like 10th Doctor to me.

I actually thought that too, because of the shorter hair... but I couldn't explain it other than it not being THE 10th Doctor, but the human Doctor (10.2)...

Well my first thought was it's the human version of Ten, but wouldn't Eleven think 'he looks kind of familiar'?

you never know !
i have noticed that in TEH and F&S both prisoner zero and the angels have both said, in relation to the crack in the universe, that "the doctor IN the tardis doesn't know"

so that you lead us to believe that there is another version of the doctor running around as well... maybe in amys room and the doctor who came back to amy in the forest telling her to remember what he told her when she was 7 ( mind yo the first thing that came to mind was "your scottish, fry something" LOL)

Perhaps the giant eye peering through the crack is Dr Ramsden opening the comotose Doctor's eye and checking for signs of consciousness like she did with dog owner.

I'd remembered where else I saw the second MYTH reference in TEH:

When we pan through the hospital at the beginning, the first heart rate monitor we see reads Royal Leadworth Hospital on top of monitor casing and then also off the the lower right side. But when we get the shot of the man who Prisoner Zero first replicates for us (man and dog) his monitors have a sticker that reads "MYTH" on the top of the monitor casing. (This one was a little harder to catch.)

Later in the episode, Geoff's laptop is commandeered by the Doctor and lo: he also has a "MYTH" sticker on the outside casing, where a computer manufacturer's logo would usually be. (Most people spotted this one.)

There are also various clocks/watches that have recurring (in town) or different times on them (Rory and Amy's) and I don't know how much stock to put into it. Since time and specifically rewriting time seems so important this series, clocks might have a good deal to do with telling who is what and during when.

It could very well be, and then all the patients calling for the Doctor could mean it is a wake-up call for him.

The guy in the bed looks like Stan Smith from
"American Dad". Maybe we'll see a Moffat-McFarlane
crossover!
