Okay, time for another game of 'tenuous connection bingo'!

So far in this series we've met a Queen (Liz 10), a Pawn (Bracewell) and a Bishop (Octavian). Which chess piece will come up next?

Will Venice feature large black crows, or for that matter, a castle?

Will Rory be Amy's knight in shining armour?

I'm guessing a castle. That, or something similar (big big buildings with large basements etc)

No doubt the King is the main villain at the end.

I'm hoping the crack in time has erased the Slitheen from existence.

Well the Doctor did mention the Cyberking this week...although he didn't appear.

This is a pretty interesting theory, provided bracewell was actually referred to as a pawn during the episode, rather than it being a case of you characterising him as such after the event. I can't remember the episode well enough without going back to have another look though.

Well Venice is set in a Castle (I think).

Too tenuos?

Thats acctually not entirely ridiculas. We'll have to see how it pans out.

Can someone explain the pawn though, i didn't get that. If there is a chess thing going on, the interesting thing would be if there are a lot of chess pieces mentioned, what ones are missing and who could fill those roles.

That could be quite illuminating.

Well, of course I'm characterising him after the fact. It's no fun otherwise!

Nothing is too tenuous for this theory!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pawn
"A pawn is a peon, or other powerless person. It is often a word used to describe someone or something that is used or manipulated."

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pawn
"(colloquial): Someone who is being manipulated or used to some end, usually not the end that individual would prefer."

Oh right i see what you mean, sorry i thought someone had specifically been called a pawn. Thats a bit more tenuous then....

Not tenuous enough, in my book. I'd be inclined to point out that we're travelling with Amy Pawn-d, and the Pawn-dorica will open.

The dotor initially visits Amalia at "knight"

I'm going to come up with an entirely random theme or theory and retrospectively apply it to the episodes that have been on so far.

Possibly fish fingers, I haven't decided yet.

People will buy into it, and start to find their own evidence.

I'm trying to work out what chess piece is a 'large black crow'.

As a bird lover I'm deeply ashamed of myself for not getting that.

I'm off to give myself a damn good thrashing!

Ok, a little less convincing then, but not totally barmy yet - we're only 5 episodes in so it could pan out still. You really had me scratching my beard for a minute though!
