Is Little Amy Behind it All ?
Virgil Tracy

I can't help wondering if little amy is somehow 'imagining' this whole universe .

in the first episode we see evidence of all her childhood games/dolls involving the Doctor who she waited for her whole childhood .

River says they're all in a fairytale , the Doctor seems concerned that it's all about amy etc. and there's the crack in the Universe with some huge eye watching it all .

I'm not saying it's all a dream , but perhaps somehow little Amy is 'seeing' it all and continuing what she thinks is a game with all her own role-playing toys etc.

you mean like prisoner zero was living her life for the 12 years he was gone?

I still think SHE is Prisoner Zero or she swapped places with him somehow. For some reason the village of Leadworth, where Amy's from, makes me think of The Village from The Prisoner. Are all the people of Leadworth prisoners??

Thinking of Silence In The Library and Forest of the Dead, the World in which Donna was trapped existed in thoughts only. If Donna thought of something it happened immediately rather than in real time.

Perhaps Leadworth is similar. Perhaps Amy thought of the Doctor as a child and the next thing she was an adult and meeting him again. Perhaps she can't remember things because they never happened to her, she skipped them all.

Perhaps Leadworth is an artificial reality.

And perhaps somehow River Song is trying to escape her death in FotD, and in doing so is trapping the Doctor in a similar situation and when "The Pandiroca Opens" is when River's plan comes full circle and the crack is intended to "swallow" the Doctor (ie kill him) and free her and lord knows who else...

I dunno really!

I think that's an intriguing idea... not sure how likely it is but good call anyway

Edit: I am having trouble with the idea of little amelia dreaming of molesting the doctor

River doesn't know that she sacrificed herself for the Doctor - he didn't tell her, because it's a spoiler! It's in her future.

well , yeah . but I'm not really saying that little Amy is dreaming it all , the events are real but somehow she's interacting with events , not realising that it is real .

Does anyone remember Escape Into Night , an early 70's tv serial , I'd bet Moffat does .

Bump!

I do think it will somehow all relate back to Amy's childhood , there's so many references and Moffat seems to continually re-vist themes about childhood fears , even the crack in the wall was inspired by the crack in his son's bedroom .

I'm beginning to think SM is laughing his little socks off at all the speculation and imagining than people are making about the true storyline of this series. Personally, I love the not-knowing too, but there could be so many ways for this to turn out, wide reaching speculation is about as useful as a chocolate TARDIS. I mean, Amy could turn out to be a Time Lord and her house could even turn out to be her TARDIS.

Hey, it's possible-maybe Amy is the Rani (nobody else has been nominated so far this year, after all).
