Interesting to note that despite most of you being concerned about this dog, no one (it seems) has contacted the owner to find out if the dog was ever ruturned (or if he worked out how to turn caps lock off).”

BIB I wouldn't say so.
Could have been stolen from the garden, that's the way a lot of them go.
IIRC The Staff is the most stolen dog in the UK, probably due to it's popularity, I wonder how so many are stolen and don't put the thieves in A&E due to their inherent nature of biting and attacking humans?
As you know so much about Staffies maybe you can explain it?

The point in contacting the owner would be what, exactly?
The word's returned btw.
Considering the mistakes in the OP before you edited it (see posts 1, 4 & 5 IIRC), I'm not sure why you're trying to make such a big point over the person's typing or posting things in the incorrect section.

You've managed to cover one point, the spelling mistake, nice bit of obfuscation, it's not working though.
Ignored the rest of the post you've quoted.
'ho ho ho look at the idiot who posted something in the wrong section' soon followed by a Homer Simpson moment.
Ignored the bit I added later too.

The reason for my double post is that my computer is slow and in my impatience of mad clicking, I must have somehow submitted my thread twice.

Both posts were in the correct section though.

Well, after reading this thread with interest from start to finish, I am truly amazed I am not dead. Honestly, how could my parents have been so cruel and irresponsible bringing me and my brother up with .... boxers! Now you don't get much more powerful than that.

Honestly, I've just joined this forum and I'm thinking of cancelling my membership as there are too many narrow minded people on here. ANY dog has the capability of attacking someone, this much is true, but all of that depends on it's upbringing. You get just as many viscious yappy little things as you do any other breed. I don't care if it is a cliche, things become cliches because they're said a lot and things are said a lot often because they are true! Dogs aren't dangerous, their owners are.

Most good dog owners and breeders will acknowledge that the dangerous dogs list is ridiculous, anyone who is going to break the law and raise dogs to fight will do so anyway, any responsible owner will train their dog well and not leave children unsupervised around it.

These boxers I grew up with, I was never left in a position where the dog could harm me, not that they would have wanted to, soft as muck, if we'd been burgled, they'd have licked the intruder to death before harming them! I was taught from a young age to respect animals. Our family friends have photos of a 7 year old me hugging their German Shepherds around the bording kennels they run to show people that these dogs are friendly and are trained. Oh, incidentally, we used to show dogs as well, when I was a toddler in my push chair, my favourite trick at these shows was to put my hand in a Rottweiler's mouth and tickle it's tongue. I still have both hands and all my fingers . Only dog I've ever been bitten by, a dachshund, yes I was bitten by a sausage dog!! But after reading this thread, I don't know how my parents managed to keep me out of danger for all those years before the days of people on forums passing judgement and telling us common folk how to do things.

I don't know how anyone can assume from a couple of photos that the family in question are 'charvs' and mistreat the animal and are irresponsible around their child. Beggars belief that you would assume all of this from someone's misfortune.

I am truly surprised that one of my cousins has lived to 26, then, as my auntie brought him up with boxers, too! It's a bloody miracle (lovely dogs, btw).

But... but, THEY HAVE A STAFF! AND THE KID HAS CLOSE-CROPPED HAIR! Only chavs have Staffs and children with close-cropped hair! Of course you can make value judgements about someone/their lifestyle by a few blurry photos on Gumtree, silly.

I have said neither of those things.

I wouldn't leave the forum after dis-agreeing with one thread, that would be silly.
