Sorry, what was that about immature minds?

Or perhaps its a case of minds mature enough not to over blow and exaggerate the things they see on TV. Given I am 38 and experienced a lot of things, I am certainly mature enough to make logical, rational reactions to the things I view as opposed to emotional over-reactions. So I guess it makes me amoral not to have a problem with said scene.

Or maybe its just because I am aware that we live in 2010 and there are worse things out their in the world than seeing someone get a little randy. Isn't that what humans do?

And as others have pointed out, Doctor Who is full of violence, death and murder yet the morality of it goes unquestioned.

My youngest was far more upset/disturbed by Donna having her mind wiped. he really couldn't get his around the fact she would never remember The Doctor.
he didn't bat an eyelid on Saturday.

Some people seem to be making remarks about viewers ages being connected to their perception of the supposed sexy scene. Well I'm 61 and a granny and I just thought it was funny. For me the humour was in the fact that the doctor, who fights off monsters ,seemed more scared of Amy! As for Amy, we all know she's a very upfront girl, and nothing wrong with that.

Ainsley:

Calling Women "slappers" - morally sound.

Mild sexual refferences and inuendo - morally bankrupt.

Oh dear.

Honestly if you are so worried about your childrens viewing habits, watch things first, alone, then make an imformed decision about whether you feel its suitable for them. Its not like it was shown in CBBC or something.

I think teaching children to call women slappers is far more concerning than a bit of slightly risque humour on a saturday evening TV show. I wonder how many complaints the BBC get for the evening repeats of "allo allo".

This is very silly, entirely exected from the Daily Fail mind you. They have a clear anti BBC agenda so most sensible people will take it with a pinch of salt. Media-watch i'm sure could find more pressing media issues to campaign on, biased coverage by certain elements of the press during elections for example.

Frankly a bit of controversy never did a shows ratings any harm, i'm sure moffat and the bbc big wigs are secretly quite happy about the publicity. Mary Whitehouse did wonders for old Who's ratings in the 70's and 80's after all

As for posters being immature with no love life, I'm perfectly happy with mine thanks although judging by your oppinions on Amy''s behaviour I might be a "slapper" (or whatever the male equivilent is). But oh well. I'll continue with my morally bankrupt way of life, not calling women disrespectuful names as i go, scumbag that I am.....

yes it's a shame your parenting skills are so lacking you encourage kids to use such derogatory terms in relation to a women.

This is ridiculous. Your 8 year old has seen far worse ... I know I had by that age. Rather than going on blaming the television program for "teaching the wrong morals" why not take up your parental responsibility and grasp the opportunity to explain why it's wrong what she does (and how come she does) and how the Doctor reaction is justified.

Kids don't grow wiser by shielding them of the wrong/bad stuff you know....

PS: There is something called a spellchecker in your browser. I'm not a native English speaker and was appalled by the mistakes in your post...

Yes, frankly some of the things said in this thread have been a bit of a "lol" fest.

Perhaps they have just been brilliant bits of satire that we haven't picked up on. Chris Morris might have stopped making TV shows and just started making up fictional internet forum accounts, like the time he went on Kilroy for a bit of a laugh.

We can only hope....

Imo maturity level is not equivalent to your age in years, some people never quite mature. Even then there are different "fields" of maturity: while my mom is a successful businesswoman she is quite immature on some levels

In hilarious, hipocracy related news, see Sandra Parsons on mail online....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...eep-night.html

In which she criticises Matt Smith for not having enough sex appeal.

She also has a go a GP's and talks about the difference between "good" and "bad Imigrants". Lovely stuff.

She even gives us some fashion tips. To borrow a Simon amstel joke, "what does one wear to a lynching?".

Children don't care one bit about a bit of sexy-sexy. Most fo the time, it goes straight over their heads. When it doesn't, all they see is a woman wanting to go to bed with a man. Literally. They don't have sordid images of them pumping up and down. It's just cuddles and kisses in bed. That's as far as the images are likely to get.

On the other hand, you have adults getting all uncomfortable about seeing someone want to roger another person senseless whilst their kiddie is sitting ni the room; completely forgetting that the child isn't imagining all the horny dirtiness that mum and dad are thinking of. Cue outrage. Mum and dad got embarassed thinking about sex whilst their kid was in the room.

Get over it. It's just sex. It's harmless. Your little kids will be banging away with someone in a few years time, too. Quite normally, as well. It's how kids are made, don't ya know? There are more important things to worry about your kids seeing than someone getting a bit horny. It's not like we saw the Doctor and Amyy going at it full-pelt whilst rammed up against the side of the TARDIS or anything.

Little kids have more interesting things to worry about. It's sexually messed-up adults who have such a problem with anything even remotely mentioning that men put bits of themselves inside women.

Dear Digital Spy,

If i wanted to read articles by the Daily Mail I would visit their website and sign up and comment there..
Please stop reporting reports and articles by them

Love from Lucky

but since I'm not a wife of someone middle class and I have a minor grip on reality..

This episode contained no more graphic content than other series shown at this time. And I have seen far more graphic issues in actual children's tv.

If you are not able to discuss sex openly and at a level your children would comprehend then perhaps you shouldn't expose them to content they don't understand and you find distasteful.

I used to watch "carry on films" when i was very young and the content was far more sexualised than Doctor Who.

Seconded - I'd also like to see DS dropping the tabloid habit of sensationalising referenced items by putting on their own sensationalist headline and picking and choosing segments from the referenced article that supports their headline.

Just like the Mail, etc does with their 'stories'.

Is it just me or is DS turning into an online version of the Mail?

How do you score in sport sex?

Is it similar to tennis, or more akin to american football.

Do different zones have different points

So many questions, I guess I will have to find an 8YO to answer these questions for me.

Seriously people. I think this thread has become comedy. Just like the Daily Fail, Lets just leave it be....

as we all know the following 2 things

Most hetro men would like to be aquainted with Pond
Most boys would like a sister like pond

3 things, we know 3 things

All girls would love access to the tardis, I mean just how many shoes would it take to fill it?

Wasn't this part of the plot of Nigel Kneale's TV drama, 'The Year of the Sex Olympics'?
