What is classed as a "chargable call" with BT
Ginger Daddy

I could ring BT to query but would probably get irate holding in a queue!

I got a free landline connection on the basis that I made 10 chargable calls per month.

However I am confused.

Does this include the calls I make during the weekend to local numbers that I get on my calling plan or not?

I have found different answers some saying yes, some saying no.

Many thanks

The requirement is to make 10 or more chargeable or inclusive calls each month.

As you appear to be on BT's Unlimited Weekend Calls Plan, you are getting inclusive calls of up to 60 minutes each to 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 numbers. Any/all such calls will count towards the 10 calls requirement.

A few people have trouble making 10 calls and, for them, I recommend calling 020 7043 1320 (a geographical number for the speaking clock) ten times in quick succession on any Saturday or Sunday each month.

That's a dead number.

I'll just ring the local councils Council Tax line instead, will be closed on a weekend but goes through to a message!!

Cheers.

You mean you don't pay any line rental ?

No, I didn't pay the £100+ extortion for connection of the line in the first place.

There was an offer at the time.

You must have dialled it wrong. It's the speaking clock when I dial it.

I'm on an iPhone so just clicked on the number as written in the thread, and it didn't work.

However it has now. Weird.

That's funny. I was wondering just recently if the speaking clock still existed.

Good that they've given it such an easy and memorable number. I remember the days when you had to go to the trouble of dialing 'T' 'I' 'M' (although it probably took longer with the old dial phones).

I shall give it a try this evening.

You misunderstand. 'Timeline' as it's now called, still has a memorable number - 123 - but it also has a 30p price tag.

The 020 number I quoted is a geographical version (whose, I do not know) which those with inclusive calls can call for nothing.

30p, eh?

I wonder how many people use it?
