Hmm, does when I click it...
It didn't work for me either, but then I just went into shillpages.com and found the right image.

He was handsome in this very 1930', 1940's type of way, but I was always surprised that he was only 58 in Dr Who. I thought he was older. By the way, I also thought Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Christopher Eccleston and Colin Baker were attractiv (Colin had a lovely facial structure).

With regards to the original question, Dr Who does not need to be goodlooking or attractiv, but it doesn't hurt if he is (anyway beauty is in the eye of the beholder - or was that an angel).

I think that Matt is great! To be honest I thought that DT was at his best with Donna, no romance just a 'jolly good adventure'!
I also think that by the time of the last specials DT was getting a bit boring and jaded in the role.

I love with Matt that he has brought a whole new lease of life to the show and I like his interaction with Amy. I am really excited about the show again and can't wait for the twists and turns leading to the finale.

Excellent job Matt!!

Really like him so far. I worried of a Tennant-lite character coming through but he's really making it his own, at the moment.

Why?

Huge square jaw, Sunken eyes - just not attractive http://friendfeed.com/bryansays/e67b...matt-smith-new

Unless you're a complete dog you'd be disappointed to wake up next to him (and i'm just about old enough to be his Dad! )
Have you ever looked at yourself in a mirror? Matt may be slightly odd looking, but you... well...

I love Matt, think he is really good. I still prefer David Tennant in the role but that is just because he was 'my doctor' Christopher Ecclestone was the first Doctor that I watched but whilst he was ok you kind of knew he wasn't around for the long haul. David Tennant I think connected with the majority of the Dr Who audience something Matt I think will striggle to do just because their is still quite a few unhappy fans who miss David Tennant. But I am enjoying Matt in the role I think he has kept some of the same traits that made Ten but added his own sort of quirky style to it and you can tell in certain parts of the episodes he is still settling into the role but once we get further into the role I can really see him excelling. I like KG too she is the first companion I have really enjoyed since Billie Piper was in the role although I can only see her staying around for the same amount of time, I'm not to keen on her throwing herself at the Doctor the way she did though, I didn't really think that was necessary in the episode and ruined the best episode of the series for me, it just seemed rushed and out of place. I hope they don't try and make her too sexy because the media are starting to call her the sexiest companion, they need to now find a way of making the viewers really care about her the way they did with Rose, atm she is just very funny and very outspoken I want to see a more vulnerable softer side to her.

I think he's doing okay. Could do without the super-fast talking though. I suppose it could have been worse.

I agree, it's one of the very few gripes I have with Matt Smith and was one of the many reasons I couldn't get to grips with The Beast Below. In that episode in particular, he rattled of explanations so fast, it made the whole episode even more harder to follow than it already was.

I kind of like the fast talking thing though, although he could maybe enunciate better. It's like his brain verbally running away with him and making him come out with garbled crap about haystacks of statues. He's always starting sentences without knowing how he's going to finish them lol

I think some people don't seem to understand that it is clearly intended that he talks (and indeed enunciates) the way he does, it's part of the character. It's something people are going to have to get use to. It's part of Eleven's persona and is going nowhere fast!

I think he is my favourite Doctor, followed by Chris Ecclestone and then David Tennant. Peter Davison is high on my list too.

It's quite clear that you have no idea what women find attractive. Matt Smith is a very good looking young man with a great personality. True he's no Brad Pitt but to say he's unattractive is ridiculous.
Brad Pitt may have what people call handsome features....but for me, his bland personality on top of that, do nothing for me...while Matt, and DT and CE, while not conventailly handsome, their quirky looks and fantastic personalities, and talent...make then really attractive! For me I think I really like Matt's looks the best out of those three....for DT, as attractive as I found him, I did wish he would eat something!!!

Why should people have to get used to it? A basic premise of a television show is that the audience should understand what the characters are saying. At present, I have to re watch an episode with subtitles on in order to understand everything that Matt Smith says. To me this is just bad acting and poor directing.

OMG I completely agree with you, I cannot see what the fuss is all about, give me a Matt Smith over Brad Pitt any day. I loved CE, DT is attractive but a bit thin, Matt Smith should not be interesting to me at all (far too young), but he has an old quality.

I Think Matt is great as the Doctor still getting used to the change.

But sometimes i think he tries too hard to be like David Tennant.

For the simple reason that his patter is intended to be like that, you aren't actually intended to be able to take in every word he says. To say it's poor acting/directing is to miss the whole bloody point really.

I don't think he has been much like DT at all since the first episode. I think it's a case of people forgetting The Doctor is still The Doctor whomever he may be, and therefore attributing things to being DT like when in fact they are Doctor like.

I'd disagree.....he has had flashes of Tennant, but that was mostly done on purpose in TEH, now if he channels anyone the most, its Troughton....he does it fantastically as well...

Tenannt had flashes of Tom Baker. It's inevitable that certain mannerisms will recall certain Doctors, intentionally or otherwise.

No it's not missing the point, it is plain bad acting pure and simple. And to say some lines are written not to be heard sounds absurd! Moffat's obviously wasted his time writing them in the first place then.

Oh for goodness sake, of course it's not bad acting. And while you are intended to get the general gist of what is being said, the way it is written in that scatter gun style is devised with the intention of people being left struggling to keep up with him, and thus not necessarily hearing every single word he says.

If they wanted to make every word clear to you they would have him speak slower. It wouldn't be hard to do. It's not like MS himself speaks that fast you know.

Anyone that doesn't think it is deliberate is just looking for something to nitpick over, quite frankly.
