Rory for Series 2/6/32/Blah?
Is it time for a male/multi companion series? I think it would lend a new dynamic to the show - we've had several companions at once in the "classic" series, why only single females now?

I can understand from a writing and plotting point of view, but I agree with you. Though we have had Captain Jack, Mickey and ?Adam? who were all in the Tardis in nu-who. It would be good to get a different dynamic going.

![]() I certainly agree with the OP as I would love to see more male companions but I always liked the idea of having more than one companion. As a writer it gives you more to work with

Still havent seen enough of Rory to judge if I'd like to see more of him (though I already like him for the brush scene from VoV
) but generally speaking I would love for there to be a 'crew' of three or four in the Tardis for a good run of episodes. I love the dynamic it throws up and the chances to explore different aspects of the characters. Allows for more variation than the standard Doctor and one female. I thought it worked brilliantly with Jack in every episode he was in and I even liked having the Tin Dog around. Some of my favourite episodes were the ones with extra characters on board...its the group dynamic in 'Boom Town' that makes me love that episode so much. |

Wow, I thought I was the only one enjoying the Rani/Romana/River addition. Certainly if they don't show her then we have a great deal of questions which will be left unanswered
![]() i thought alex kingston had good chemistry with both MS and KG looking forward to more cant say i was particullary taken with rory, but hope to be won over...its just the fiance/boyfriend is such an obvious choice and has been done with mickey |

Not sure about Rory, not seen enough to judge but yes would like to see a regular male companion, someone new preferably tho.

Reserving judgement on Rory as a companion because he's too much of a mystery at the moment, but agree with others that it would be interesting the Doctor travelled with a male companion or with two companions. Amy and Rory has potential, especially if

I think it's more of an option with this Doctor than the last two, because he's that bit more uncertain and less alpha male.
I get this feeling that Rory is going to provide the warmth and viewer-identification that some people feel that Amy lacks. If they can make that dynamic work, then great. River as a companion wouldn't work - she knows too much, especially about the Doctor's future, it would take too much control away from him. Besides, the sparring between them is cute for an episode or two, but would grate quickly. |
