She left at the beginning of series 2 due to school commitments but does anybody know if she is returning.
Is Maria Jackson returning to the Sarah Jane adventures?
She has returned already. If you mean permament, that won't happen. She won't move back to England within 3 years of going to America. She might do a 'Mark of the Beserker' style return though.
I know she did return and yh i do mean permanently. Who knows, there could be a reason. Missing home or something. It would be quite possible. i liked the whole family though as well and would love them all to return.
At first, I thought there must be intentions of bringing her back, as there were constant references to her in Series 3, as if the writers wanted to keep her fresh in our minds for when she did return.
But when I really thought about it, this is a childrens show at heart and they need to affirm that the character is not dead or trapped but has just moved on. Unlike the Doctor who has had to move on from Rose and the like, Luke and Clyde as children have the luxury of security where the writers are concerned.
But who knows, she could one day make a comeback. I feel it would be out of place though unless handled very well.

Maria was a great character, but then Rani is pretty good too. Would the series work with both of them?

I hope we do see her again. Yasmin was a good little actress and we know she wanted to concentrate on her education but surely a guest appearance wouldn't be out of the question??
I liked the character (and her dad was pretty sexy), but there's no space for Maria and Rani together.

That's just what I was thinking
Just because she's in this doesn't mean she can't return as Maria, surely? She obviously had to leave Sarah Jane because it's a way bigger commitment than say working on a film which maybe she could do if it was shot in her holidays between terms.
