advice about young cat
cred

to try and explain, my son got a kitten last year from a shelter for his girlfriend, but because they ran into money problems they moved in with me 6 months ago, We had a massive arguement on Monday and they have left the house, the problem I have is this, while they were living with me, I got the kitten spayed, chipped and injections, she is registered in my name because they had no money. And tonight she sent me a text message to say we will be coming to get their kitten. The thing that worries me is she is now so bonded to my cat, who is 10yrs old. Not sure they are saying this because they really want the kitten or it is spite, and YES they own the kitten, but could I pull rank and say I've been the one looking after her, she is registered with me, and have the proof, but I don't know what to do, I really don't want to make matters worse between us, but I also don't want this lovely little kitten used as an arguement

Do you believe they are really in any financial position to look after the kitten now ?

Did they show affection for this kitten, or had the novelty worn off ?

I should ask them some really tough questions first !

I knew they couldn't give her a good healthy home. They never turned up after the phone call on Friday. They turned up tonight and got into the house, but I phone the police, and they were cautioned and left. I proved to the police that she is registered with me and showed all the vets certificates and they were happy with that. Hopefully this will be the end of this horrible episode

I'm glad you didn't hand the cat over cred. They sound very irresponsible.

Be careful they can't get into your house again without your permission .
