I think I may have spotted what we are all missing in Episode One, The Eleventh Hour. Many apologies if this has already been suggested...

Spoiler
Amelia / Amy's house is a two story building and there are two flights of stairs. When The Doctor returns after "5 minutes / 6 months we get a shot of the top of this flight to the invisible third floor and it has a blanked off opening. There is a perception filter on the flight to the third floor. Where is the third floor ?

There's a second flight of stairs alright, but it leads to a trapdoor, or hatch, to the attic. You should be able to a see a handle near the top of the screen (think it shows a bit better in the HD version).

Of course, it could have a perception filter on it, but then so could any other door that hasn't been examined yet.

One thing about that scene that no-ones mentioned yet is ...
why is there a light on in the middle of the day ??
The house looks very tardisy.

I've also noticed little A's drawings. There's one with 8 trees -Dorabella speech. One tree (Great Ash ?) and is that Churchill also ? They could be worth further study.

Ah, you have an advantage over me with HD; I can't see a hatch or handle at all. However, I do think that the second flight is not the sort of construction that would be used in a house of this age and type for a little used access to a loft space. Couple that with the low pitched roof that the cottage has it points to me that there is no attic other than a crawlspace for access or maintenance. My in-laws lived in an old house with a similar low pitched roof and they had just such a loft space... no attic at all.

Guess I could be seeing things that arn't there....So much in Leadworth that doesn't add up. Time will tell, I suppose...

BTW Who the hell is Karl Pilkington and what does he do with chimpanzees ? Or don't I want to know ?

I'm not sure you really would like to know... But he's the 'punchline' in all the Ricky Gervais pod casts (now animated and on Channel 4). He's possibly one of the most gullible, and idiotic, men on TV.

But he's also really funny (albeit unintentionally)!

Oh I'm sure it must be intentional...no-one's that stupid. Very funny though.

I work in education - trust me, people definitely are that stupid... Mostly the tutors and directors!

I don't have HD telly, I wouldn't have noticed it at all either way. I only went to the iPlayer HD version to look after you mentioned it!

I'm pretty sure that's his "thing" and it is intentional.

One other thing, and sorry to all for being like a dog with a bone on this one...

I make no apology for spoiler tags even though this is speculation...
Spoiler
At 12.57 when The Doctor has just closed the crack in Amelia's bedroom and they run onto the landing. The Doctor says there's something he's missed; for the first time referencing the perception filter.... There is light coming down the second flight of stairs. We know there is no electric light fitting on the ceiling up there from the later shot of Amy in her short skirt..

So... Is the trapdoor open at this point because prisoner zero escaped up the second flight of stairs ? If this is so it would explain why the room he eventually comes out of 12 years later is so bare and looks so un-lived in.

What's up the stairs ?

'Doctor Who?' That was a long running comic strip by Tim Quinn & Dicky Howett in Doctor Who Magazine back in the eighties.

IMO it is very clearly the fact that all of the Coma Patients shouted 'Doctor'

Has anybody else noticed that the Doctor keeps finishing off people's sentences? I've noticed it 4 or 5 times this series. Not sure if it's relevant or even intentional but it's a pattern and I like patterns... Except for knitting patterns... I don't really have an opinion on them.

There are quite a few things he got away with in that first episode.

Tardis doors opening outward when it crashes.
Amy packing and wanting to go with the doctor when she was small.
Sonic screwdriver playing up from the moment he lands the tardis upright (before zero slimes it) as it did in The Library.
Tardis making a new screwdriver itself.
Being able to fly with the new layout without knowing what all the new buttons and dials do.
Lots of possibilities.

But there was the line about "What did I say to you when you were 6?" (or however old she was)

Or maybe its what prisoner zero looks like above camera shot that he got away with. Amy didn't see that bit of him to cover it with an impression.

Maybe the thing we've missed is this...

Spoiler
When the Doctor makes his 'Earth is protected' speech, we see images of various alien races who have attacked the Earth, but included in this is the Hath who, as far as we know, have never been to Earth. Perhaps this is an example of time being re-written?

Nobody has mentioned the blue light that was over the screen when Amy/Doctor were mucking around with that guys car.

Maybe that was a crack that the Doctor/Amy fell into.

If it's meant to be something where we go "how did he get away with that" then I think you've worked out what it is. It's meant to be something obvious.

All this talk about extra lights, blinking lights, a colour flashes on the screen for a millisecond, a chimney is shaped like the tardis light, are far too obscure for the average viewer to spot without having to over analyse the episode.
