Less than a week to go....
....and my nightmare year with that pile of steaming shite that BT call 'Vision' is over.
Poor content, poor set top box, poor service and incomprehensibe support have made them a major fail. I've been counting the days until I can upgrade (leave) for about 10 months. Sorry to gloat. I know that many of you are still stuck in your contracts... But I'm free!!!! (Nearly). |

Jam. You have been lucky.
To suggest that out of 400k of customers only 1 has had troubles is stretching it. Vision had a fair number of faults in the early days but it has improved significantly. Just a pity for MostynDS that BT didn't pick up on this on the DigitalSpy forums and try to help him. |

Also - for the record. Vision for me works great. Been lucky to have had no streaming faults when we've used the service.
Had 2 STB issues which were nothing too bad. Had infrequent reboots which was annoying at the time which was fixed - still have the rare HDMI sound glitch (sound cuts in/out and is fixed by putting the box on standby then back on again to re-initiate the HDMI link). As per the last post - BT regularly read Digital Spy. I am surprised they didn't pick up/help. |

We know it's not Sky TV but I don't pay any where near what sky ripped me off for. |

Mine's been spot on.
Although mine did have the HDMI no audio issue, it was no biggie for me since I use a surround amp. but since D8 HDMI audio was fixed for me. Everythings streamed, and the only fault I can remember was once when BT Vision's EPG server went down for a day. I couldn't change channel unless I used the scanbar or the numbers. Loving the new film pack, deffo big improvement. The only thing I wish BT would do is to install the full Iplayer. and to have Replay in HD. However i do realise that space and bandwidth would be an issue though. |

As a background to this I have VM being installed on Friday. My BT BB Account is due to end on Monday. My Vision account runs until th 25th May though obviously the box would no longer work past Friday when my VM broadband is installed. Yesterday I called BT to cancel Vision from the end of my contract (25th) as BT for some reason insist you can only cancell within 14 days (most people want more notice but BT insist on less for some reason). Instead of turning off Vision on Friday or Monday or the 25th the woman insisted that it was turned off immediatly, and so it was. Clearly I don't miss the VOD but there were a few programmed on the PVR that I was hoping to watch before Friday. How petty can you be? Another reason why I'll never go back to BT.

I've never, ever had a problem. Well, except when I got a viewing card for ESPN and it didn't work straight away. I ran a nice fella and within ten minutes he'd clicked a few buttons at his end and I was watching the footy.
I can't fault Vision. I can't see how people can justify paying Sky's prices. Yes, a lot of what is on TV is shite - Sky just charge you more pennies for more of it! |

I was paying BT £55/month for TV, Phone and BB. At the time, I made a saving of approx £23/month moving to Sky, and it gave me exactly what I wanted as I wasn't using the On Demand stuff enough. Even now, I haven't seen anything listed as being on BT Vision VOD that makes me think it would be worth another chance. And to get the BB, Phone and TV I want would still cost me less with Sky than BT. |

I now have 4 mixes, and the same phone package, but have upgraded my BB to the unlimited which is £10/month - but I have an offfer of £7.50/month if I re-sub to the BB for a further 12 months. So now, my monthly sub is approx. £42/month |

In the next few days I should be gone from BT, going over to LLU. So Bt Vision is certainly out for me now. May have a look at Canvas, if/when it comes to light.
i will still pop in here now and again to have a look to see what is going on, my new ISP is a monthly contract so I can always come back. I am not going to say never, because you just don't know, I went from Bt before and came back. so have fun |

Right. That's me sorted. Off to greener pastures.
I hope those of you that find Vision acceptable, continue to do so and that you continue to enjoy your out of date American box sets. Mean time, I'll be trying to put the whole sorry experience behind me whils watchin Sky sports, which is more than Vision customers will be doing any time soon, if ever. |

Also don't forget not everyone have any interest in sky sports. i like some sport, but no way would i pay the amount sky wants for what is most of the time boring football. i like something different, not the same old rubbish we get in this country, some exciting sport to watch, not some over paid men running around after a ball. Content is a problem with BTV, it was because I was thinking of getting BTV that I took a few months to decide about moving ISp. Done now anyway, next week I will be on a cable and wireless network reseller. Might get a T.V licence next month and decide what I am going to do T.V wise. Might get one mix of sky, but I doubt it. |

As for Sky Sports thats coming in the next few months, BTVision can launch it from today if they wished to, but waiting until the start of the new football season. |

I've seen nothing (and I've looked at the BT announcements) that makes think that Vision customers will actually get to see Sky Sports for the new season. BT/Top-Up still have huge legal mountains to climb before then. If they want to gamble they'll also have to pay a lot of money into escrow to allow it to happen. Are their pockets deep enough? It's in BT's interest to mislead people in the interim. |
