Does anyone know what this is?
Its not snot as its way to runny and if I blow my nose nothing is there but as soon as I bend over it pours again

I have a Dr appointment on Wednesday for something else and shall ask about this too but would just like to know if anyone else has had this and what was it?

ETA Forgot to say it only pours out of one nostril

Do you get hayfever? I've had this happen both with hayfever and with a sinus infection, you probably just need a decongestant, or something to dry up the secretions.

Sounds like some kind of allergic rhinitis - could be hay fever, could be some other allergy.

Possibly a mild sinus infection (or an allergy that you don't know about, a lot of people have developed allergy to rapeseed pollen since it's become a popular crop). Is it clear fluid with no taste or smell? That would certainly suggest allergy rather than infection.

I'm assuming you haven't been the recent victim of a serious attack or injury to the head (not joking), and it's not likely to be your "brain" fluid (cerebrospinal fluid) leaking out?

No no head injury at all. It is salty but no colour. I do live near lots of fields with rapeseed crop.. Funny to get allergies after all these years

I'll bet it's an allergy to rapeseed pollen then. You could get some antihistamines from the chemist (get the cheap ones, they're just as good) and see if that fixes it - it will take about 3 days to get a response. Ask the doctor/pharmacist first if you're on any other meds.

Don't bend over backwards, you'll drown.

Sorry didn't see this .. I would have thought that a allergy would have more symptoms that that but hey I'm not complaining.

I'm always amazed at the amount of fluid that can come down your nose with an allergy. I mean, where does it all come from, and why am I not at least 5 lb lighter?

Take some Piriton or Benadryl - you can get it at the chemists. They do it in a non-drowsy formula.

I get this drip drip drip sometimes - never have found out why.

Bodies are indeed strange things! I think it's because the fluid is in your sinuses, and when you bend over it's like pouring the fluid out of a jug, whereas when you're upright the fluid isn't next to the "exit", as it were.

Put a cork up your nose or a tap and turn it to the off position.

It happened to me once, was very odd as was 1 nostril and zero allergies- turned out to be CSF leaking through my choriod plexus in me brain!! Go to your gp as soon as possible!

Well, I did mention it! I think that would be pretty unusual though, and you're seeing your doc later this week, so don't panic. Incidentally, it's raining here in beautiful West London, so if it's raining with you, and it IS a pollen allergy, you might be a bit better today with the lower pollen count.

No you said if id had a head injury it could be that.

I will go with the hayfever as ive not had any headaches or anything like that.
