Nah, that won't make me bitter for the simple reason that I think she's probably perfect for the Dorothy role and is a talented girl so therefore agree with the panel for the most part.

She was rubbish *this week*, surprisingly awful though, which is my point.

I think that Lauren is vocally by far the best, so compared to the others she comes across as shouty sometimes and as CC said tonight, she could let some of the notes tail off a bit maybe!

The only girl left now who I just don't get is Jessica - vocally I don't think she's particularly consistent and I just can't see her as Dorothy in a million years - but maybe that's just me!

Sophie was the best tonight and Danielle was awful get her out!

This is the dullest, least interesting top 5 any of these shows have had. What a shame.

The most surprising thing for me is how terrible Danielle was tonight - she should have easily been able to NAIL that song, it's really the ultimate teenage angst show off show tune. But she missed the mark entirely. Pretty telling, I think. Yeah, she's 'subtle', but there's no intelligence to her choices at all. She was totally at sea. The only reason Mambo Italiano was good was because it was choreographed to within an inch of its life - as this production of Wizard of Oz will eventually be, I imagine, hence why ALW is okay with his commitment to making sure she wins. She can be controlled and directed to be the Dorothy he wants, Lauren's obviously worn out her use as back-up and will prob be disposed of soon. Mary Poppins stank of a stitch-up to me, evidently didn't really work...! I can't see at this point that ALW is envisioning anyone else winning except Danielle.

haha fair enough, i thought the climax wasn't great tbh but it was the build up that i thought she acted truthfully but hey ho thats just imo.
i didnt think this week was to the standards of last week though, this series just seems to be so much more intense and i think its making them all so nervous.

It's fascinating that the week most suited to the competition was the weakest week so far.
Danielle - Butchered the climax, no desperation in her acting.
Jessica - Energetic but not convincing and she can't sing her vowels properly
Steph - Terrible key (too low), not a pretty voice on long notes.
Jenny - Completely out of her depth with that song
Sophie - Coquettish but her her face never stays happy for more than a brief second.
Lauren - The only one to convince but a repetitive song with not enough variation.

Was underwhelmed with most of this week's performances!

Danielle - Her worst performance. She may or may not be ALW's fave, but that "On My Own" was not good. She was pitching all over the place on her top notes. If she wants to win, she has to improve on that.

Jessica - Energetic, fun performance. No way would I claim that she has the best singing voice, but she can act, and dance, and has a rapport with the audience. Very hard song to be given on this kind of show (cheesy, as they said!) but she had a good go at it.

Steph - Again doesn't have the best singing voice, but a very likeable performer who appeals to an audience, always looks like she is having fun.

Jenny - Meh. I've failed to warm to her, she was OK but nothing great.

Sophie - Was better than some of her previous performances, I don't like listening to her personally as there's a hardness, a tone in her voice I don't like, not pleasant to listen to. She can sing but has no emotion, no feeling, no warmth. Steph and Jessica and even Danielle can put across some warmth to an audience. There's nothing behind Sophie's blank face.

Lauren - She's a great singer, I really like her voice, even though I don't think looks-wise she is right for Dorothy. In a more mature role I think she'd do well. She didn't deserve to be in the bottom two, she sang better than that.

Wasn't surprised that Jenny left, this is the first time she's been in the bottom two so naturally ALW took the chance to get rid of her. She's talented, but not Dorothy (and the dog didn't like her, LOL!)

So, it looks like the next sing-off is likely to be between Lauren and probably Sophie or Steph. Personally, I'd like to get rid of Sophie, for the reasons stated above, and if she lands in the bottom 2, I think ALW will ditch her now.

Jessica is now the only one who has never been in the bottom two, and if this show follows the pattern of previous shows, that strongly points to her being the winner with the public. We're not privy to the voting results each week, but presumably ALW is, and if she's consistently winning each week, as Lee and Jodie did in previous series, he may be resigning himself to taking Jessica as Dorothy.

Just got back from the real Les Mis and watched the show.

Wicked looked a possible for Lauren or Jessica on the vocal or look but they gave us no idea who actually hit the key notes at the end or not.

Danielle as you say got a showstopper. VT was rather like a party political. Starts well but the arrangement went to very odd places and it made no sense. "Pre-tending" was bizarre." "never known" was backed off and the big climb became a small hill. Please Lord let Sam be able to do it better. On the other hand the version being sung on the tour is almost as bad.

Jessica's VT suggested she would be different - not necessarily a good thing given who won the first 3 series. She got something difficult to sing and an outfit that made her look silly and undorothy . Very watchable though.

Sheila and JP singing from the same songsheet as usual.

Steph needed another 10% on the power I thought but otherwise nicely done. Plenty of money notes to get votes.

Jenny alone gets the sad still contemplative song. I thought she gave a beautiful and consistent performance but not reflecting everything thats in the plot of ALNM. They even cut down the money moments that were available. The panel's comments were banal - overpraise for Steph and they wanted something in Clowns that obviously the vocal coach didn't. Charlotte actually makes sense but she looks sometimes if she's sitting with snake oil salesmen. ALW then tells us he expected Jenny not to do that well - which kinda begs the question why she got it and why its the only downbeat song with a money moment drought.

Lauren got a vote unfriendly song too - more money moments than Jenny but less well known and doomed for the bottom two where she will reliably knock anyone else out. Good vocals but nothing to pull the punters in.

Sophie was a bit thin more often than not.

The public obviously ignored the panel's comments with these two. Sophie was on the disposal list too. Sophie for the next sing off?

The Toto VT nailed the fix. The dog has 8 months to learn how to act with Dorothy and feeding them works wonders. Jenny seems to have been deselected by a dog doing what the Legally Blonde dogs do all the time. Steph has a problem. Surprisingly Danielle did well, Jenny gets barked at as no friend of Toto. Lauren and Sophie are OK.

I only ever watched the Josephs besides the Dorothys, and missed the final of the Josephs. So do all the eight not Dorothys come back for the final to join the three remaining Dorothys? And if so, do they get to sing together in a group performance?

I thought it was a weak night all round for all the girls.

Think Danielle and Steph were the best overall.

Reckon the nerves/double elimination thing was getting to them, they seemed more affected by nerves than usual.

I was quite disappointed with tonights show after I thought last weeks was an absolute cracker I was expecting great things tonight but it just didnt happen. Perhaps it was the nerves of a double elimination.

When Defying Gravity was announced I thought we were in for a treat but I didn't think they made a particular good job of it and no one sounded that strong on the top notes, not sure we have a future Rachel Tucker in there.

I really like Danielle and always find myself willing her to do well, I hoped she'd turned a corner after last week but tonight was a bit disappointing again. However I'm really not a fan of On My Own so I'm not that surprised I didn't like it that much. Jessica did better than I expected.

Jenny sang quite well but didn't really act the song enough for me and I'm not surprised she went home, a lot of the people to have performed Send in the Clowns haven't been very good singers but the power in their performances comes from their acting (e.g. Judi Dench). Jenny didn't really have that for me.

I think Lauren was the best but she doesn't appear to have a chance of winning (and I do have to admit in the acting task she did look a lot older than the other girls in the Dorothy outfit!). Lauren will probably do better if she doesn't win anyway and can go and get a more suitable part for her, though I wouldn't mind hearing her for a couple more weeks!

Lauren, Steph and Danielle have been my favourites all the way through & would be my ideal final, though Jessica is doing well at the moment too.

Oh and surely all the talk of it being fixed for Danielle to win should subside after she got that ridiculous tongue twister in the medley and everyone else got something actually with a tune! All that medley did for me was made me realise that all the songs sound exactly the same, not the most exciting of musicals really is it?!!

In Maria we had Abi and Aoife in the first sing off (Abi went) and then Aoife and Siobhan in the second with Aoife going.

ALW is on record saying that he made a mistake in not saving Aoife.....

She's been played out as this working class girl from the 'boro who can't afford to go to stage school yet we've never seen much indication of this and tonight with the pricey A&F shirt it makes that clearer. It just shows how things are edited to carve out different characters and people, and it's nearly always pretty inaccurate. I didn't intend for the comment to put some perspective on the 'concept' of what working class means.

I was surprised that Jenny was in the bottom 2 this week. Partly because of the Daily Star's story, but also because I thought she was really good this week. I missed the bit with the dog because I had to go to vote, so maybe that swung it if she didn't do well on it (I would never vote based on one of their bogus "tasks", which are going to be edited to give the impression the producers want)

I'd expected Sophie to be bottom 2 this week. I'm surprised how many posters liked her performance, as I thought it the weakest of the night. But there you go, we're all different (especially Jessica, seemingly )

I wonder if Lauren starting from the lowest base will be in the bottom 2 again tomorrow, or if support will now rally behind her. Poor Lauren! She really has been stuck with this "arrogant" image, and it's utterly undeserved IMO. I don't think there's any way she can win this now, though. Jessica is beginning to look like a good bet to do that.

I can't see why she got it if she couldn't do it and he wants her or why the judges thought she had done it well and then covered their tracks by pointing out her acting was better than her singing. Neither was very good or consistent singing that.

The song is incredibly difficult and an awful lot of Eponines have dodged the big notes and missed many of the emotions. Danielle didn't even have to try for an accent (Eponines parents feature very distinctive ones) and the arrangement missed out much of the climb and power needed to go there. They didn't give her the Salonga version with more power or the Ruffelle version with more characterisation and vunerability let alone the current Nancy Sullivan version which has more power, much more acting and the accent. What they gave her ( a bit of emotion and a few money moments) she should have been able to do better.

Not sure what this shows. You may be right that he doesn't care what she can't do as he thinks she will do whats neded and not argue. If so he will keep on inventing unconvincing reasons to get rid of people like Jenny and Stephanie an ignore her problems as something that can be trained away. . He may be thinking though that he's going to need a stronger vocal and acting performance to make Dorothy fill seats. If thats the case, small Steph who can act may now be appealing as may vocally strong Lauren. His problem there though is that he can't reverse on Danielle easily, he and his judges may not have made the leap to go all the way and do so and the show is pointless if it ends up with two of the oldest contestants winning on experience. He could easily find the equivalents of Steph and lauren in the WestEnd or a normal audition.

I agree. Danielle definitely got the worst part of the medley. I thought she did well with it, though. I thought she and Sophie were the only ones who had a Dorothy-like youthful innocence in that medley. As good as Steph and Lauren are as performers, I have completely written them off now for the role of Dorothy. Danielle is still my first choice, but now Sophie is my second. As for Jessica, I never thought she was Dorothy in the first place. She is more of a character actress.

OK - so finally got to settle down and watch this - I caught a bit of the Results show before settling down to this so for all this rapport crap ALW was spouting I was surprised to see that JENNY bonded with her pooch, and there was no dawggie for Lauren!

I really started to warm to Jenny a few shows in, and I am sorry to see her go actually. I was quite tearful as she started to lose her composure before taking the stage to sing for the last time. I thought she sang her farewell really well ...

Jenny and Jessica - never had been in the bottom two until this weekend and both went out - ouuuuch!

Oh yeah - and "pretendaaaaang - [/yip]" and I TOTALLY get what ppl said about too many words in Charlotte's song!
