1970s Hammer vampire films influence

Whoever wrote and directed this must have watched all the early 1970s Dracula films.

I'm sure I saw Peter Cushing in the background, who always played a Victorian doctor/scientist even in films set in the present (then the 60's, 70's).

I guess there may have been a nod to that in the episode, but no I don't think it had that feel to it. I enjoyed the episode but it didn't have the sense of drama Hammer films created.

I felt it might have been inspired by the works of
Victorian writer Sheridan Le Fanu -the female
vampires were straight of Le Fanu's "Carmilla"
Also, Amy wandering around
in her nightie with a candle remindered me of
Naomi Watts in the Beeb adaptation of "The Wyvern Mystery".

It was said in Confidential that Toby wanted it to feel like the Hammer series

Of course we've already been treated to one Hammer homage/rip-off in "The End of Time Part 1".
Many elements of the Master's resurrection were lifted straight from Dracula's resurrection in Hammer's "Dracula: Prince of Darkness" (1966), and also "Taste the Blood of Dracula" (1970) which also uses a ring as one of the instruments of the resurrection.
