I totally agree.

I was such a huge fan of torchwood, the second C of E finised i was on the web, lookinafg when it would return.... but after hearing nothing i kind of thought back to myself maybe that's a good thing. I think i'd rather leave it be, an amazing 3 series show than drag it out and possibly ruin what an amazing show it was!
And another thing, i dont know if i like the idea with torchwood, minus over half the original team. I'm not to sure i'd like to have to watch new people (only for them too be killed off just as i started to like them..?)

I've got to agree. COE had a good "ending" feel about it. If you've read the Torchwood novels you would have noticed a definite culmination in the the last few, especially "Consequences". And, RTD's book "A Writer's Tale" shows a real sense of closure for him about all things Whovian including Torchwood.

I was definitely opposed to an American version but I've heard very vague rumors that Barrowman is pushing for a Scottish version (and we all know Archie runs Torchwood 2 in Glasgow!). With Moffat at the helm (pure speculation on my part, of course) we could have quite the "stealth-Scottish" agenda!

I read somewhere that filming was due to start January this year, but I guess that didn't happen or I misunderstood. I thought it was a definite though. Its still belong to Russell T Davis, Moffat is just Doctor Who.

While I don't agree at all that CoE wrapped things up (personally for me the ending felt hollow and rushed - like there should be another episode afterwards. Or at least another scene. Only, there wasn't) However, I'm not sure I'd want to see another series.
Mainly because I don't think the series would work if it was just Gwen and some new people. She's not a strong enough character without Jack/Ianto to balance her out, and any attempt to "recreate" a Jack or Ianto figure would have people (including me probably) complaining. And if they [i]did[i] bring Jack back, any attempt to give him a love interest would be hated by Janto fans.

I really didn't like CoE, but I'd be afraid of any further series ruining Torchwood even further. But that's just me, I know plenty of people did like CoE!
