I don't think she has the emotional fortitude to carry off a gruelling West End schedule in a leading role. She's not the Dorothy but she could play the other Dorothy in the show who sings Evening Star.

Sophie definitely put herself back in the running with her performance last night and I have to say she's handled the comments she's received with a lot of grace and stoicism, so kudos to her for that. I still think she's a bit too 'deer in the headlights' to play a lead role at the moment, but she has a lovely voice.

She seems to be a firm second favourite with Danielle fans. Maybe it's the quiet, unassuming, non-pushy manner they both have.

I thought Sophie was excellent - really disgusted at some of the comments about her. Her best performance so far

I thought she was competent but uninspired - move here, move there etc. Not bad, but bottom two for me to be honest, along with Jenny.

I can understand people not thinking it was the best but when people say it was rubbish

The judges angered me because John and Sheila didn't say anything remotely nice, not even there was an improvement which there clearly was and seem to just be gunning for Sophie. Sheila for example basically said Danielle was not at her best tonight but covered it up by showering her with praise and some crap about Catherine Zeta-Jones. How fair is that?

Sophie definitely upped her game and gave her best performance to date. I liked it a lot and was bewildered by the judges' comments. However, I can still sort of understand why the panel were 'gunning for her', if you put their remarks into the context of what ALW was saying about looking at their performances in totality.

Oh, and while it wasn't 'fair', I don't think it's their job to be fair; it's their job to give an honest assessment, which is not exactly the same thing.

John actually did say that he liked her performance which was open etc. but that it just wasn't big enough. Sheila said that it was pleasant but lacked edge.

John has tried very hard with Sophie, even taking time to help her personally. She just isn't cutting the mustard though, and he's right to say it.

Both right in my opinion, competent but dull and she doesn't have command of the stage.

Not rubbish though.

Agree - they have to call it as they see it.

Never mind John ..... I wouldn't be surprised if ALW saved her if she's in the bottom two next week. Remember his comment about having plenty of time before the show opened ..... also what did he see that was so interesting in the medley?

Sophie has weaknesses but for the part of Dorothy they are actually strengths.

Well if they have to give an honest assesment why did they give Danielle lots of praise when she didn't cut it last night and it was clear to see to a lot of people?

What about John's rubbish to Jessica about being 'Marmite Dorothy' and it was cheesy. She can't help the costume, choreography and imo she did really well, she performed it in essence like it was supposed to be done.

I understand what your saying about the judges maybe giving opinions based around all the performances so far, but it just seems to be that they have favourites and nothings going to change their minds. Its just how I see it and I do hope I'm wrong

They didn't heap praise on her Charlotte mentioned her problems vocally, so did ALW. John said at the end 'consider their performances throughout' which I took to refer to her.

I agree with John about being a bit cheesy, she pushed 'kooky' to the limit, laid it on a bit thick really. It was an Ott comedy performance and a bit all over the shop. I like Jess though, and it made me smile.

Having favourites is a bit of a weird way of putting it, to me. They have opinions about who they think does the job best, and who they rate, both objectively and subjectively, that's how it works, but they all seem to give the girls a chance and are willing to change their minds according to performances. If they don't then there are reasons for this.

I thought Jess was actually the best this week. That said she is very inconsistent.

I agree with that; the song is what it is, and what it is is cheesy. Jessica performed it right, though she did go off at the end, which I think Charlotte rightly pointed out.
