"I'm so quirky" Cringe
xKatieLx

Did anyone else really cringe at these. She's obviously gonna win but this and the my facial expressions are brilliant etc are making me cringe.

Sophie won't last much longer.
Danielle is unpopular and not getting many votes according to newspapers so won't win
Lauren was bottom this week.
Steph's been in the bottom 2 twice
Jenny has been top every week with Jessica close behind and the only one to avoid the bottom 2 so now Jenny's gone Quirky will win.

Aww poor Jessica...

Monster Munch for the win - oh yes.

Danielle is unpopular according to the newspaper? She has been in one sing off. Like Sophie. Less than Steph and Lauren.

Remind me again who was topping the votes every week according to these newspapers?

And yes, the "I'm so quirky" is cringey. She was like a broken record.

I am Danielle fan but newspapers have previously said correctly Danniella Westbrook wasn't doing well on Dancing On Ice, Rachel Adedeji topped the vote on X Factor Week 3 and Chris Hollins was winning Strictly. All these were right so I believe the newspaper that Danielle wasn't doing well. I want her to win now Jenny's gone but I do hope she wins.

There's nothing with Jessica being how she is. That's just her personanlity.... everyone has one.

And as for that stupid paper, don't believe everything you read. They talk bullshit.
One said Jenny was topping the votes at 40 percent on average, I don't see how she can go so low this week, her performence wasn't that bad, compared to some other weeks as well.

One of my favourite things about Jess (never mind her talent! ) is the fact that she doesn't take herself too seriously.

The first time a few weeks ago she said she was quirky I did cringe, but then she proved that she was.

I have NO problem with her saying that she's quirky, weird etc cos she IS and I love her for it. She's showing that you don't need to be a text book theatre-school kid and that's fab.

I hope she does win- Dorothy is a bit of a boring character with all her moaning about going home if you think about it- Jess would make her a bit more contemporary

I should be used to Jessica's antics by now but all I could think of when she was performing tonight was those embarrassing childhood vids that always get shown when they're talking to the Dorothys' mums - the really, really cringemaking "Good Ship Lollipop" type ones which no-one but a mother could love.

Seriously, I accept that Jessica is Marmite, but what worries me is that she really doesn't seem to be ready for a leading role in the west end - her singing isn't all that and she gets breathless. Her OTT stuff catches the eye and makes (some) people smile but I really don't think she's right for A. Dorothy and B. ready for a leading role on a west end stage.

I fear another Jodie success - excpet Jodie was at least mature enough to be ready for the role.

I do think the 'q' word has been over-used, especially by Jessica but I still love her to bits

I thought she looked good in the acting challenge and she performed the best in the group number at the end.

She's breathless cos she hasn't had the training she needs yet. That will come together.

Her OTT stuff is what will make her a leading lady- it may seem OTT on camera but if you were at the back of the stalls/in the gods you would feel extremely involved and feel you got what you paid for in that you could see everything she was doing.

People who are obsessed with describing themselves as quirky usually aren't. Generally they're simply irritating and desperate for an identity besides "that annoying girl from school who everyone hated". Everything Jess does is forced and unnatural, not quirky.

I'm sure she'll win though. Oh well.

I have no problem accepting that not everyone will like Jessica. Saying she's desperate for an identity etc is a little bit hurtful and personal, however.

She does say she's quirky/different a lot, yes, but she actually is. So therefore she's proved her point.

You're right and I apologise. Bad day and all. I do stand by my comment that her quirkiness is forced and unnatural though.

All I have to say is that perormence she did was awful, but good in a way. I enjoyed it.

The clothes, looked like she had been set on the rampage at oxfam.

I don't care if she does say she's 'quirky' I like her. She'll bring a lot of personality and maybe a bit of comedy to the part of Dorothy. Who says Dorothy can't have a bit of a laugh on the way to Oz?

She was best in the Wizard of Oz medley at the end as well!

I don't mind Jessica but I'd rather she didn't keep telling me she's quirky. She can perform; I'll decide what I think she is. Saying 'I'm so quirky' does nothing but put her under pressure to make people continue to believe her.

At least the tactics used to win over the public are things like trying to be quirky and not like last time where it was one sob story after the next, marriage proposals that type of thing...

She is quirky, but does it matter what she thinks of herself, surely it is her ability for the role that is important, I thought when they all sang at the end, she nailed it, there was as much expression in her voice as her face.

And in theatre the getures have to be exaggerated, you don't get close up screens. Danielle is good, but put her on the stage and sit half way back in the theatre and she wouldn't stand out.

When ALW mentioned he had learnt something after the Medley,I think he meant Jessica. She was by far the best.

Of course she was breathless, she had the hardest song and choreography of the night! They were hoping she'd be out I think.

She doesn't take herself to seriously and she knows her style. Nothing wrong with that.
