Jenny didn't bond with the dog so couldn't possibly be Dorothy

What a load of rubbish and as for the Lord saying that was his reasoning behind getting rid of her-why couldn't he just be honest and say he didn't like her....

I bet they trained that dog to run away from blondes

Yeah, what a pathetic excuse to get rid of her. Dog rapport sessions should have been part of the original audition process, if it was that crucial!

I doubt it had anything to do with the dog. Lauren was just a lot better but saying it was the dog was probably his way of dressing it to soften the blow.

The dog VT was his way of making sure she was in that sing off.

I agree with you and I hope Jenny will get something better than playing a 12-year old girl!!!

I'm sure that if he particularly wanted Jenny as Dorothy he'd find ways round the dog issue - I can see that it has to matter.

I wasn't keen on Jenny in the beginning but she grew on me and her voice seems to have improved too. I don't see her as Dorothy but that said, she'd make a better Dorothy than Jessica - I don't see how she gets more votes than Jenny and Lauren???

I thought it rougher on Lauren, to be told that was the only way she was better than Jenny, was that she was slightly more of a canophile than Jenny.

Lol! Well the whole thing was ridiculous-it had nothing to do with the dog!

As someone else posted, if the dog thing was such an issue then they should have addressed it earlier on. I really liked Jenny but I do think it was her time to go.

Very reasonable.

The girls should have been asked if they had a pet dog or whether they were good with dogs in the initial interview process. It's vital for the relationship between Dorothy and Toto to be plausible.

But this issue aside, Jenny has been receiving negative comments for a while now. It wasn't a travesty that she went or anything.

That's so funny .... and true

Quite frankly the dog thing was ridiculous and manipulated as much as possible to highlight ALW's favourites ...

We saw about 2 seconds of Danielle and it didn't look very exciting but according to ALW she was amazing ... Sophie did well with the dog but more importantly took the bedding with her and would therefore be a risk to scenery ... Jenny couldn't control the dog and the others were bedgrudingly ok ... think he implied Steph had problems with the dog but from the VT it all looked hunky dory .... what a load of dog poo ....

The dog issue was irrelevant, just an excuse. Jenny has always been the weakest of them in terms of movement on stage. I think they all knew it was her time to go, it just felt right.

I haven't had a dog since I was a teen but the neighbours dogs lick me on sight . The reason is I give them food.....they will quite happily take food off anyone come over, jump in the air and wag their tails for it. Thats what Sheridan Smith and Amy Lennox use in Legally Blonde - the dogs go to it and are rewarded with it. The Legally Blonde dogs run off all the time too.

Its true Jenny has been getting criticism but a lot of that didn't make much sense either.

Yes flawless vocals and emotion connection to the song are just calling out to be criticised.

I agree... and that wee dog wasn't Toto anyway and maybe he didn't want to be fussed around with.... and had Jenny been with him earlier on, he may well have stayed beside her and he probably had enough by the time Jenny was with him!!!

By the time the show starts in several months time they will have a well trained Toto who will respond to any of the girls, so what ALW said was utter tosh!

I found some of her vocals nasally (as Charlotte pointed out) and I don't think she sold some of her performances enough (which John and Sheila picked up on).

I know you're a fan Jill and I'm sorry she's gone for your sake but I didn't rate Jenny as much as the others girls and agreed with most of the panels comment's about her.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

(Loved 'Songbird' though).

She should have sung Songbird every week! I for one would never have tired of hearing her version!

Yes it was a total joke of a reason to get rid of Jenny. ALW should have been honest and said that he felt that Lauren was a stronger singer (which she is).

The dog used in the clip we saw is not the actor that will be playing Toto anyway, and surely whoever is chosen as Dorothy will have months to build up a rapport with the actual Toto that she will be working with.

I thought Jenny was good as a singer, but for me was not Dorothy as I felt she didn't look right for the part. The dog issue did not swing my opinion at all.

I hope the dog turns rabid. We'll see how much bonding it will be doing with people then.

Exactly. I make no bones about the fact I prefer Jenny to Lauren, but obviously realise that Lauren is the better singer and if the Lord had said that I would have had no problem, but to use the dog as an excuse was just wrong.

Wait until you see the actual mission with the dogs tonight, from what I've heard it was a bit unfair on one of the girls!!
