Jenny could play Glinda
Becker
09-05-2010
With the right vocal training, Jenny would be a good Glinda.

She actually kinda reminds me of a younger Kristin Chenoweth.

Thoughts?

She's too young. Glinda was in her 50's.

I saw Wicked last about ten days ago and I thought Glinda was in her 20s?? It's a very funny role - I can't see Jenny doing "Popular" just yet.

But I think she has a lovely voice and I hope she finds something suitable - just don't think it would be Glinda.

Rachel was really good, I thought, but I hadn't seen the show before so can't compare her with any others.

She really has got a powerful voice though - when she did Defying Gravity it was incredible. She wasn't my favourite in IDO but the girl done good now.

"Popular" was the hit of the night tho and that's basically Glinda's song.

Tbh no one will ever match Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, they were the ultimate duo for Wicked.

I actually preferred Alexia Khadime- she was brilliant!

I think Jenny's voice is way too weak for Gahhlinda

Hence why I said, with the right vocal training.

I certainly hope Jenny will get something out of this. I think she's very good.

Agree, they were the best.

I can actually envision Jenny singing "Popular" in the future as her voice has potential to deliver that song with the right minxy attitude.

*Cough* Kerry Ellis and Dianne Pilkington *Cough*

Hmm... I'm not sure if she would be good in Wicked... maybe in something like We Will Rock You though...?

I actually think she has a very similar voice to Kristin Chenoweth.

There are some similarities, but I think she'd need quite a bit of training to get to Kristin's standard. Lol sorry if that comes across as sounding mean, it's not meant to!

For the second time, that's why I said "with the right vocal training".

Alexia Khadim surprised me - after seeing kerry, i thought she was really good but i still prefer Kerry's vocal richness!
Ahhh dianne pilkington - the best Galinda!!
But yes i idina and kristen are great lol i cant decide who i prefer though!!
Jenny has the vocal ability for glinda, popular is by far the easiest vocal, its the song glinda sings near the start, dianne sings it almost with an operatic tone, that would worry me for jenny at the moment but again it can all be taught!! hope she does well...............i voted 10 times for her last night due to the silly song choice!!

Glinda's quite a humorous character and Jenny didn't ever strike me as being 'comedy' actress.
