How exactly are Danielle's fans in denial? Many have already said it wasn't her best performance - those top notes on 'pre-tend-ing' were awful - but I don't think it was anywhere near as ropey as some people are making out. :-?

It wasn't that bad. But yes she's had a poor week. still doesn't mean she can't play Dorothy though.

Danielle was poor last night ...... her fans are in denial .... can you imagine the comments if any of the others had come up with such ropey performances
I didn't particualrly like the arrangement and styling. I think it would have been more convncing if she were in an Eponine type costume sining by a streetlamp like in the show. It lacked the atmosphere of what is a beautiful song. Also they played it way to fast, without the build up needed. It definitely highlighted some vocal weakness for Danielle, an area to work on. But as Snoop said earlier, the Dorothy role is nothing like what is needed for the role of Eponine. Eponine would be a bloody hard role for any of these girls and I can only see Lauren being able to do a showstopping vocal of on my own. It is a huge number. She was very nervous about the song and was nervous performing it, so considering all that she did pretty well. I am really proud of Danielle yet again. |

I've possibly gone mad but I really enjoyed Danielle's performance. Although she is my favourite I like to think I can be objective when watching and I've just watched it again.
"Pretending" was very shouty and really not great. Aside from that I liked that she sang softly sometimes to change it up a bit. But that is just my opinion and maybe I have gone mad.

I hate to say it, but I too am losing faith. Lauren, Steph and Jess were as strong as they usually are last night and Sophie is picking up ground fast. Danielle took a real step back.

Personally I genuinely enjoyed the performance, particularly the way she varied her voice (from softer to alto) in various parts. Loved her expressiveness and acting as usual. It wasn't up to her usual standard but pretty good. Agreed with Sheila really, not her best, but even her not best is still very very good.

I think they are all a bit one dimensional, none of them really have the complete package imo.
Steph is the best performer but I don't like her acting, I also think her voice is pretty weak. Lauren has the best voice but she just looks far too old imo. Danielle is the best actress but her voice isn't strong enough. Sophie is the best all-rounder left I guess but I find her performances really forgettable. |

I think Daniellle has a strong voice, but she needs to work on it. I've heard her sound very good sometimes. |

I would rather she did On My Own last night. Danielle didn't do it very well but I think Lauren would have smashed it

I watched danielle in the studio last week and I felt that she showed no passion in her eyes. She is not atheatre actress, but there again she could be better than Shelia hancock who I find overrated!!!!

Danielle is still by far the best Dorothy. She hit one note which made me nervous but her overall performance was beautifully done. As ALW said, her vocals can easily be worked on. Remember she is still developing. If she can produce work like this now what is he going to be like in a year or so. On broadway maybe winning a Tony!

My only real issue with Danielle is that her strength as an actress is in subtelty and nuance, she's great at acting with her eyes etc. and on TV she is the strongest actress by far imo, but I'm not convinced it will work as well on stage.
Either way she is my current favourite. |

Danielle sort of went from hero to zero in the space of a week!
I think they're all allowed one off performance though so I shan't give up on her just yet. |

We have barely seen any acting on which to judge the girls, long bits of dialogue on which to see how they properly perform. At the moment we're just guessing as to who may be good at acting or not.

I actually feel that they are all reasonable and any one of them could do the role, given the appropriate coaching.
I think that their voices are very similar, possibly with Lauren as the stronger singer of the group. But I feel that she is too mature, both in looks and voice, to be Dorothy. I think that Danielle and Sophie are best suited to the part based on their appearance. They can both sing and I'm sure that whoever is picked will be given intense training before they get anywhere near the West End. |

Danielle was disappointing last night - her voice didn't seem up to the job, very shouty and uncomfortable. She's allowed one bum performance though. She is a great talent.

It wasn't just Danielle's solo that was disappointing - she was easliy the worst in the medley, sang it rather strangely switching beteween her head and chest voice almost randomly.
I have heard OMO sang much better - and by local gilrs not just in productions of LM |

I think he really rates Lauren, but she just doesn't have the Dorothy-esque qualities that Danielle possesses. I think that particular scenario would definitely be his worst case one.
