Philips DVDR70 - reduced quality
I've just bought a Philips DVDr70 recorder and successfully connected it up to my Sony digitally integrated TV via a scart lead. It found all the channels without a problem, but I notice quite a significant loss of quality in the picture when looking at it via the DVD recorder compared with the normal digital picture. Picture is grainier and sound lower.
I can't see a reason why this should be so and wondered if anybody else has experienced this? |

Are you watching using the Monitor button, if so what Record Setting are you on ? This view will show you the picture at the quality you will record it, so if set at M6 your picture will be lower than if at M1.
Are you inputing RGB or composite, if the scart is coming from an 'out to video' socket it would probably be the latter. I had this problem when I initially set up my 75 and connected it to my Cable box, I had to connect it to the 'TV out'. Hope this helps. |
